I was impressed with Liberty's size and atheltic ability. They are one year away from having a great team in Lynchburg. I was sad to see how the fourth quarter went with all the personal fouls called and the Liberty player getting ejected.

We move on to face Savannah St. Its homecoming at Brooks Stadium this Saturday.

I have said all along that 2006 was to get experience and hopefully learn how to win. 2007 will be putting that experience to use and I expect 7-8 wins. 2008 will be the year that I think LU starts to contend for the playoffs. Most of the team are sophomores this year, they'll be seniors in 08 and have two years under Rocco, plus the schedule will be very credible that year.

He's only a sophomore. Here are the guys that are impact players who are underclassmen:

Offense
3 - Rashad Jennings - Soph
7 - Zach Terrell - Soph
13 - Brock Smith - Soph
27 - Dominic Bolden - Soph
55 - Mike Godsil - Soph
64 - Brady Hassell - Soph
69 - Zach Davis - Soph

Defense
2 - Pat Calvary - Soph
14 - Chris Rocco - Frosh
22 - Derek Lisko - Soph
24 - Ryan Greiser - Soph
53 - Nick Hursky - Soph
72 - Colin Dugan - Soph

Basically in 2008, LU will be like Coastal is this year: extremely senior heavy. Hopefully the success will be there too.

By the way, what'd you think of Rashad? He's still hurt so he wasn't at full strength but I think he contributed nicely.

Really? The newspaper that covers you guys said before the game he was 100% and going full speed in practice.

Rok, you know better than to believe everything you read. If he was 100% he would've started and been the #1 back, not the short yardage back. His ankle's still giving him a good amount of problems. No coach will tell you that. Rashad won't tell you that. He's not 100% though.

Rashad Jennings gives me nightmares like LU's kicker gives SuperJon nightmares.

Believe a guy that calls himself SuperJon vs the coach, player, and newspaper - hmmm what to do xlolx

The reason they wanted to use Terrel is because he is the kind of guy that gives us fits - the straight ahead runners we can handle better.

What was the score in that game?

The W&M/Liberty game was 14-13 W&M

The G-Dubb/Liberty game was 27-24 G-Dubb

Man, don't the kicker and holder look pitiful in that W&M game pic?

rok ... I can only go on what the player and coach tells me and what I saw in practice, and he looked pretty strong. And he picked up several first downs on third downs (and a fourth), so he ran as well as he could. I can envision LU sticking with a rotation at that position, because both guys bring something different.

Of course, if they can't stop anybody, it won't matter.

Rok, I talked to people that knew Rashad and they said he wasn't full strength. He's a gamer. He's not going to admit he's not 100% for a big game. He's lucky he didn't have a broken ankle or shin or something the way he was taken down. Believe what you want.

I couldn't figure out why Liberty threw the ball as much as they did. One of our biggest breaks came when they threw it on first and goal and we picked it off.

I'm not surprised. That did us a favor.
