The entire west side will be replaced by a new four story press box and club level seating. The new seating area will have a capacity of around 3500. Total capacity will be reduced from 7500 to 5500. The new stands will be much closer to the field and fans enter thru the new plaza entrance.

seems very nice and everything.....why not increase capacity to 12,000 or so?

Looks nice. What size of crowds do they normally draw?

UTM usually draws 4 to 5 thousand per game. That's why I don't think it made sense to build a larger stadium. I would have tried to keep the same capacity but I understand the budget constraints in getting this deal done. It will be a good addition for the university and I think it will provide a much better atmosphere at games. But I understand people questioning the size.

Captain, are they still saying the timeline is between the end of the 2014 season and the beginning of the 2015 season? Do they have a backup plan in case they run over in other words where would we play in the stadium is not ready for the 2015 season?

Construction is set to start after this season and be ready by the beginning of the 2015 season. I do not know of a back up plan.

Would there be any availability for expansion should there become an increased popularity in UTM football?

Absolutely we could add seating in the end zone and also widen the visitor's side.

That sucks. If they push it back again, can we start calling it Multi-Sport Facility - West?

Really disappointing news. I understand the reasons for the first delay because that was a very aggressive timeline. This delay just looks bad all the way around. And to think that they are scaling back plans to save money really sends a negative message to the community and recruits. I would think that the first thing you do is make sure you have enough money before you put out renderings and announce a timeline to the public.
