Don't look now, but North Carolina Central is now the #1 team in the HBCU world with an overwhelming 27 of the 30 first-place votes. Hampton, who in my opinion, apparently got the support of those who refuse to support a Div II squad, after their loss to South Carolina St, got the other three first-place votes.

With the talk of a MEAC/SWAC game for the national black title, this poll may just go to show you how Div II schools and even NAIAs are among those given as much respect by the HBCU pollsters as the I-AAs. It'd be a catastrophe as bad as the BCS if they squeezed the non-Div Is out, but we'll wait and see what happens.

Props to NCCU who has kicked some tail each week, even picking up a big win over Southern in Baton Rouge (and the following mess)...thoughts on Hampton and if they deserve those votes? Should Delaware St rank that high? Thoughts on Pine-Bluff being on the outside looking in?
