Athletic director Chuck Bell said DSU (Delaware State) has signed for two home nonconference games for 2008, against Northwestern (La.) State and Central Connecticut State. Bell said there aren't any nonconference games scheduled for 2007 yet, and denied a newspaper report out of Spokane, Wash., this week that said DSU will play at Eastern Washington next season.

This just makes all the people who complain about not being able to get opponents or home games look foolish. Little DelSt who averages a couple thousand for games had UMass and SIU come to Dover and now NWSt. If they can do it, anyone should be able.

I don't think it's back to back, but I think it's worse when your name is Northeastern and you have Northwestern and Northwestern State on you schedule.

We're going to have to put a disclaimer on our schedules next year that say "No, this is not a typo."

The PFL teams have not been real good about releasing future schedules. In the past, it has never really mattered, because the PFL was not scheduling for any particular purpose other than to have games, maybe get a paycheck or two, etc. The PFL has never scheduled with the thought of obtaining a bid to the playoffs.... If you listened to Patty V. last night, you heard that basically, if the PFL wants to receive a playoff bid, she may resign due to the conflict of interest with the Gateway Conference.... USD may be changing all of that this season.... In spite of Dayton's run in the 1996 / 1997 seasons, USD is really the first PFL team that even has a chance of getting a bid. The thumping of a good Yale team combined with the long winning streak and an effective PR machine, has potentially changed the dynamic for the PFL going forward.... Time will tell. Maybe Harbaugh leaves to coach some I-A State U next season and the PFL falls back off of the map.... Maybe not. Frankly, I took it as a good sign that the PFL members did not torpedo USD's efforts to be in a position to receive a bid, ( Gridiron Classic changes ). Maybe this too is the start of a change of mind / direction the PFL wants to move in going forward. Over on the PFL board, a thread exists on some potential recruits for USD, Dayton and Drake. It seems as though we are recruiting heavily against the Ivys and the PL, and even some other I-A and I-AA conferences. Read my lips, NOT against Division III. Maybe another sign that our schools are working to be even more competitive in the world of I-AA football. As for my Flyers, the only future opponent I am sure of currently is Central State University, a Division II, HBCU in the Dayton area. We signed a 5 year, 4 game deal to play them.... There is also a VERY strong rumor that we are close to signing a Patriot League team to a home and home. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I have been very clear on my thoughts that the PFL should be recognized as a "real" I-AA conference. I even believe that the PFL Champion should receive a bid to the I-AA playoffs! I have never said that the PFL agrees with me. In fact, in my opinion, the PFL is part of the problem. At least the NEC has applied for an autobid, has a dedicated commish, and has scheduled a fair number of fully funded I-AA teams with the goal of getting to the playoffs.... I'm hoping that USD's amazing run the last couple of years builds enough momentum to keep the PFL looking forward.

This is an unconfirmed schedule, but here's what I have.

NEC Games:
At Albany
At Monmouth
At CCSU
Host St. Francis
Host Wagner
Host Sacred Heart

Out of Conference:
Host Dayton
At Duquesne
Morehead State
Virginia Military Institute

Possibly one more out of conference game, since the NEC games are down to six apiece. Stony Brook is leaving the NEC to become a I-AA Independent.

Slightly stronger schedule than this year, with the removal of Rowan (D-3) from the schedule, but Morehead St. is equivalent to Butler, so unless Duquesne and Dayton improve, still a relatively weak schedule overall.

If another OOC game is scheduled, it'll probably be someone from the MAAC or Pioneer.

Odd comment being as both Dayton and Duquesne defeated RMU this season.... Once again, Duquesne is ruling the MAAC. Dayton is having a down year, but we are a quality program that will get back on track. Frankly, I think any I-AA team would be glad to have either on their schedule. ( Other than those that are afraid they might lose to a "Mid-Major". ) For example, what are the odds of an Ivy scheduling USD again any time soon?

This is actually a scheduling issue for the top MM teams. Sure, Delaware, GSU, etc. will always schedule a MM at home, but getting a PL or Ivy is getting harder all the time.... For most so called MM's, a game with the PL or Ivy is going to be competitive whereas a game with a traditional I-AA may not be competitive or desired.... Both Ivy and PL teams do not like losing to teams from the PFL or MAAC....

Heh, touche on the Dayton/Duquesne wins over Robert Morris.

What I meant by the comment was not a slight at Dayton/Duquesne, but more of a comment on the schedule as a whole. No matter what Robert Morris DOES with the teams scheduled, it's still not a FANTASTIC schedule.

It's good, but it's not a significant improvement over last year, other than the removal of Rowan.

Now, mind you, this is based off of everyone's records this year. If Dayton gets off the schneid a little bit and improves - beyond beating RMU xlolx - then it gets tougher, because you have three quality teams in the PFL. Duquesne always plays RMU tough, but the MAAC is nothing fantastic, so overall, their SOS gets knocked a bit.

I guess, with the emergence of the NEC in knocking off a few quality teams, and the renewed talk of a potential playoff berth at stake, I'm being a little negative about the quality of scheduling. It's still a decent schedule, with some great rivalries outside of the NEC in Dayton and Duquesne.

I should be more pleasant!

2007 for UNH brings the same eight A-10/CAA opponents (Maine, Northeastern, URI, UMass, Hofstra, Richmond, JMU and Delaware) just flip the location.

For the three OOC games, we're at Marshall and have Dartmouth at home. I haven't heard anything about the last OOC game. With it being the last season for Ricky Santos, I'm guessing that another home game will be a priority. Taking a SWAG, I'm thinking Albany, Stony Brook or Central Conn with Holy Cross as an outside possibility. I doubt this 11th game is etched in stone yet on the UNH schedule.

For 2008, the CAA South schools shift back to Towson (Home), Villanova (Away) and William & Mary (Home). The OOC games are at Army and at Dartmouth. That usually means the other OOC game will be a home game. Again, probably not etched in stone by any means.

Me, I'm just glad we finally have our OOC sched's ready for the next two years to come. No more scrambling of D2's. Unless a team back out, of course. Looking for some pay-back from the beach chickens next year....

I think the Sept 8th or Oct 13th game is filled with a trip to Youngstown :hurray:

YSU's OOC so far is:

Ohio State, Stony Brook, SDSU, & ? and/or ? if it's a 12 game schedule

Then 7 GFC games

Jack rabbits cool mascot

I don't think we play Western Kentucky so 6 GFC games.

From info I have seen (off of here, or on websites) this is Texas State's 2007 Non Conference Schedule

Sept 1 Cal Poly
Sept 8 Abliene Chrisitian (D-II)
Sept 15 @Baylor (D-I-BCS)
Sept 22 @South Dakota State

After that it gets a little cloudy with Central Arkansas joining the SLC, but from what I know the Conference breakdown would look like this:

Home games: Southeastern LA, Northwestern St, McNeese, Sam Houston
Road Games: Nicholls St, Stephen F. Austin, Central Arkansas

Any SLC folks have a Conference Composite Schedule floating around??

Is NDSU returning the trip to Northeastern in the future? Or was that a one & done?

The University of New Hampshire football program has released

its 2007 football schedule, a docket which features a Divison I
contest vs. Marshall University and six home games at Cowell
Stadium. The Wildcats open up with three of the first four
games on the road, opening the season on Sept. 8 at James
Madison. The squad will then turn its attention to Division I
power Marshall on Sept. 15. UNH has won its last two Division
I contests over Rutgers and Northwestern. Here’s a look at the
full 2007 schedule:

Sept. 8 at James Madison
Sept. 15 at Marshall
Sept. 22 DARTMOUTH
Sept. 29 at Richmond
Oct. 6 DELAWARE
Oct. 13 IONA (Homecoming)
Oct. 20 at Hofstra

The return to Boston by NDSU was bought out by the Bison (or we told them give us a larger guarantee and you don't have to play us in Boston - not sure which it was, but there's probably a little truth in both).

it was a guarantee from what I have heard. Don't know on the payout, but I'm sure it was decent.

Not my team, but a team my team plays. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Duquesne Dukes will play:

OOC:
host Robert Morris (annual rivalry)
host Bucknell
host Fordham
at Brown

MAAC:
Marist
Iona
LaSalle
St. Peter's

Obviously at least two more OOC games need to be scheduled. Hopefully the Dukes don't have to schedule another D-II game like they did this year at the last minute.

UC Davis 2007 schedule - as usual the Aggies are tight-lipped about their schedule but these should be on it:

Eastern Washington - home, supposed to be the first game
NDSU - away Oct. 6
SDSU - home Oct. 27
Northeastern - ?
Cal Poly - home
Southern Utah - away
Sac State -away
San Jose State (I-A) - away

Let us know if the Aggies end up on your schedule because you will know about it before we do. Maybe we can schedule USD home and away the same year to help them out on strength of schedule.
I've heard Montana but that may be 2008.

From this web site, add Portland State away.

Nothing is known, but it would definitely be preferred especially since SHSU is traveling to Nacogdoches. You folks are hosting SFA, so one would hope the SLC continues making sure there are one home and one away for the three Texas foes yearly. Makes sense, just like the SLC seems to make an effort to limit the Texas schools trip to SELA and Nicholls to just one visit a year...

I am sure if you ask the right people, they could tell you...
