I'm sure that would be deemed to be a lack sensitivity toward native americans by Kelly too. I mean when you can't even hang this sign up it's getting out of hand IMO.

Especially when the "you" in the sign is referring to the NCAA and not Native Americans. Kelley is on everyone's **** list overreacting to this whole thing. I have a feeling UND's new nickname will be non-offensive in his eyes so the UND Kelly Green will be one name he will think of.

Possibly, but the Ivys have temporarily fallen out of love with the Patriot League. (I say temporarily because ya gotta ask who else they could schedule regularly in the long run without upping their travel costs.) I expect to see a(n) NEC team filling one of those two spots.

Colgate's 2016 schedule is a good one. Great to play Syracuse and Richmond. Bummer to have one home game in seven-week stretch in September-October (though Syracuse is 45 minutes away). Colgate leads the all-time series against Syracuse 31-30-5 and has always never trailed, so this will be the first game with the Orange they’ve really had to get up for since the 1893 tilt.

With all I have seen and heard (and assumed) as of now for W&M:

OOC
@ NC State (18th meeting, NCSt leads 10-8)
2 tbd
likely @Norfolk State and one tbd home game. Since this will be the inauguration of the new, updated Zable (upper deck and amenities), many hopes this will be VMI.

CAA
home: Delaware, Elon, Villanova, Richmond
away: JMU, Towson and then two of Maine, UAlbany and/or URI.

I wouldn't pick UTM in that one regardless of time difference, but if HI wants to play that one at 7 local time you might as well ask for the buy out.

They love to do that with non-Pac Coast teams

It's 95% of the reason UNI didn't win last year, along with a dog **** OC. It kicked off at 11:30 PM Iowa time. That's 12:30 AM TN time.

CCSU will return this year's game to Lehigh in 2016 at Goodman Stadium.

Monmouth is playing its 2nd FBS opponent - at Kent State in 2016. The Hawks will play @ Central Michigan this season.

Still looking for a possible opening for September 24 or October 8 (preferably September 24 at this point). Will probably honor the CCU game on November 19 even though they are moving to the Sun Belt after 2016

Looks like NDSU has 9/24 open. It wouldn't be ideal because 9/3 is open. NDSU would have EWU, Iowa, Liberty, Illinois State as the first four games...

If NDSU and EWU met for the FCS Kickoff in August. that would mean NDSU would have two bye weeks before Iowa. Not sure that'd work. I bet NDSU wants to fill 9/3 with somebody squishy.

NDSU sounds like a nice game...my thinking is that the LU AD will probably want to get a home game on whichever date they decide to fill so unless the Bison decided to come to Lynchburg next year with a return game in 2017 or 2018, I don't know if he would jump at that one

I am assuming that CCSU still owes a home game to Lehigh since they played this season in New Britain. Is the opener vs. Monmouth confirmed? Do you know if CCSU is on a future year schedule?

I'm quite certain Central took $$$ for the road games back in 2001 and 2009, but since then I would think the teams have agreed to a home/home deals.

Here's what I've got for the tentative MVFC schedule (if anyone sees anything that's incorrect, please let me know): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sUBr6EGeLH5n5OrwXfHTNpUjoFzNRvbjgfT5A5t-o5U/pubhtml?gid=10892986&single=true

For reference, the scheduled Homecoming games are in bold, FBS games are italicized, and if there is a ? at the end of the team listed, then the game is estimated based on what everyone else's schedules are. They are likely to be correct, but I don't have definitive proof that they are.

For those that aren't aware, the MVFC plays a schedule where every set of 2 years, two teams don't play each other (which is why NDSU didn't play Illinois State last year or this year).
Here's those pairings (as best as I can figure out) for 2016/2017:

Illinois State/Northern Iowa
Indiana State/South Dakota State
Missouri State/South Dakota
North Dakota State/Southern Illinois
Western Illinois/Youngstown State

This is the latest information me and others can find on Portland State's 2016 schedule. We have two FBS games on the schedule with a September 10th trip to San Jose State and Sept 17th at Washington. For conference we replaced North Dakota and the Montana schools with UC-Davis, Sac State and Weber State. There is still an opening for our first game and many of us are hoping our AD (Mark Roundtree) is looking for another FCS opponent to hopefully sign a home and home agreement instead of a D-II cupcake.

UTM is currently looking for a 12th game, I guess as part of the Hawaii deal- that will be most likely filled by a local NAIA- sadly our most attended game of the year was a local NAIA on a Thursday last year- not JSU or TSU or MSU- pathetic- for once I will go with it, because it will be a down year with 3 FBS losses to boot- Georgia State will most definitely have the best season in history next year, because that is what happens when you put the Skyhawks on your schedule.......

There is still an opening for our first game and many of us are hoping our AD (Mark Roundtree) is looking for another FCS opponent to hopefully sign a home and home agreement instead of a D-II cupcake.

Sept. 3 – TBA
Sept. 10 – at San Jose State
Sept. 17 – at Washington
Sept. 24 – at Southern Utah
Oct. 1 – IDAHO STATE
Oct. 8 – at Weber State
Oct. 15 – CAL POLY
Oct. 22 – Open
Oct. 29 – NORTHERN COLORADO
Nov. 5 – at UC Davis
Nov. 12 – at Sacramento State
Nov. 19 – EASTERN WASHINGTONCome to Thibodaux. Return game from 2003. While we still count as a Division I win.xdrunkyx

About all we know about our schedule is that we will be in Lafayette on 9/10. That ought to be fun. ;-)

It might not be the flashiest schedule out there but it's no joke. All 5 OOC opponents could easily finish the year in the Top 40. Monmouth is definitely an improving program over the last 4-5 years. I believe they've finished .500 every year this decade. There's a good chance the Beach Hawks challenge for the Big South title next year. Villanova will almost certainly be a preseason Top 15 with an outside shot of showing up in the Top 10. Penn has a great chance to be the #2 IL team to start the year. Yale and Princeton also figure to be in the Ivy League race.

Having Colgate as the first PL game stinks. That game is historically played in November and rightfully so. Next years game could be a battle of Top 25 teams.

We have four home games in the OVC. Since it is our turn to not play Tenn. St. this year, we have four OOC games. We are already going to LSU, so we'd have two left to find if we schedule Liberty. I'd rather not play NDSU if we are at Liberty. Surely we can scrounge up a couple home games, even if we have to dip into the SWAC.

Fixed the bits on my schedule for NDSU and USD. Also, heard from one source (still looking around for confirmation though, so not certain on this yet) that our other OOC will be at home against Northern Arizona....which is awesome.

If that is true, then we'll open the season @ Eastern Illinois (7-5 overall, 2015 playoff team), vs Northern Arizona (7-4 overall), and at Northern Illinois (8-6 overall, FBS MAC school).
Then on to the "meat grinder".

We do get Missouri State back on our schedule next year (swapping out for Youngstown State), so it won't be quite as tough of a schedule as last year, but still...all full-scholarship FCS or above.
I like it :)

A couple notes I hate about this schedule

1. This year's home slate is killer - Montana, SIU, NDSU and SDSU....

2. HOWEVER, that means the MVFC didn't fix the fact that UNI has NDSU/SDSU both on the road/home in the same year. We had ISUr the same as NDSU/SDSU as well. They've dropped off for 2 years. SIU has replaced them.

3. That means there are zero home draws in 2017. The home schedule will be Cal Poly, USD, YSU, ISUb and WIU....meanwhile on the road that year is Iowa State, NDSU, SDSU, and SIU all on the road. There is zero...and I mean zero...home draws on that schedule.

Another year of UNI playing at least 2 of the first 3 conference games on the road as well.

That kind of scheduling imbalance is complete horse ****. Alas, for UNI it will probably always be that way because heaven for ****ing bid the east teams travel a bit.

When ISUr pops back in 2018 We'll see SDSU, NDSU, ISUR and SIU all on the same rotation I'd bet.xnodx

In the same year.

In theory it sounds great.

Season tickets should be easy to sell.
Single game tickets should be easy to sell
Get the tougher games at home

Sounds nice...

Then you look at the following year ...much like this past season
NDSU on the road
SDSU on the road
SIU on the road (was ISUr this past year)
No real home draw - EWU and Cal Poly are about the same draw to the general fan in the area

So no schedule balance, no draw to sell season or individual tickets.

I mostly question it because I'm jealous that we can't even get one good home game. xbawlingx

South Dakota is probably a pick em with an edge to SD. Bowling Green was the MAC champions, outside of maybe top 5 FCS team they will win vs the rest of the FCS. They could easily go 1-2 but their conference schedule isn't bad so they should still make it.

They are still the defending MAC champions, and would seriously give NDSU a game perhaps even win. USD maybe I can agree with the coaching change. Did you watch BG this year? UND doesn't have the defense to stop them.

You bet I watched them, they folded up like a cheap chair in their bowl game against Georgia Southern. GSU ran for 452 yards against them. Santiago might do well.

Looks like one Div II (OPSU) and one FCS OOC, Texas Southern. While there are no doubt some Div II opponents that would be tougher than Texas Southern, they are in the SWAC, so therefore Div I, FCS.

Nonconference: Texas Southern is FCS and Oklahoma Panhandle State is D2.

Our problem is the Southland plays 9 conference games, leaving only 2 nonconference this year.
In 2016 we have 5 road and 4 home games, one of our "home games" is SFA which we play neutral site in Houston and draw about 30K.

We were scheduled to open at New Mexico but we probably had to get out of it or we would have only had 4 games in Huntsville with the first being October 15.

Wish we could have planned ahead and scheduled a home and home with a quality FCS opponent.

1. Will the Eastern Washington ( currently September 10th) game be moved to the FCS kickoff game and then find another game for either September 3rd or September 10th?

The Hoyas were actually scheduled to go there in 2009, but Kevin Kelly (now at Ball State) backed off, worried about a bad loss. Instead, the Hoyas took a game at Sacred Heart, and were thumped there, too.

It's really tough to get someone to consider playing a one-off game in Washington. There's no guarantee and no gate.

The series was cancelled shortly after UR's appearance there. Once was apparently enough. In fact, Old Dominion cancelled the next three years of a series with GU before they had to return the 2009 game to Washington.

I think this issue is one of the huge impediments to Georgetown having a "Plan B" if competing against 60-scholarship programs becomes untenable--it would be very difficult to find people to come to play at Georgetown in October and November if GU was an independent.

I doubt we see too many non-money games from the MEAC moving forward. Either FBS beat downs or NDSU, Montana, UNI type programs paying for a game.

They have no reason to play winnable OOC games anymore. They aren't going to the playoffs. No need to build a resume for anything

Remember that SC State was in real danger of being shut down last spring due to massive money problems. I'm guessing that the athletics has taken some stiff budget cuts and this is a way to make up for it.

True Dat - Don't know, but I suspect a substantial portion of the revenue rec'd from these games will be going outside of the coffers of the Athletics Department @ SCSt.
