We will be playing at UC Davis and Kansas State, in addition to a repeat of 2014's conference slate, but with the locations flipped. Hoping we can find a little bit of a breather in that final open spot, currently have that problem with the 2014 schedule too.

Agreed. There could be some great series, but that's a heck of a long trek when there are other options. Of course, that said, Lehigh has scheduled Butler and St. Mary's in the not so distant past. That, and Wofford still owes us a game.

For UNH, they have a 9/2/15 game scheduled at Colgate, but nothing for the other two OOC games that I'm aware of. I assume one will be an FBS game so the other OOC game will have to be a home game. No idea who the eight CAA opponents will be. No definitive rotation has been set other than it looks like the five northern most schools will play each other.

Maybe CCSU will make another trip up to Durham.

Maybe Ace. Could be a later afternoon or night game, might even be the grand opening for the new grandstand if things can get started quickly next month. In 2016 UNH is scheduled to visit Dartmouth so I'm sure they're looking for a home game that year too since the other 2016 OOC will probably be a FBS game. Looks like room for a one game contract for sure. Maybe you could negotiate a two for one (in New Britain)? Although if there is any chance for a grand opening, I'll guess they might try to get Holy Cross as a regional opponent with greater recognition in NH with the Worcester return game in 2017. Regardless, I think CCSU's competition for this OOC game will come from the Patriot League. For a stadium grand opening, they could schedule a long time rival like Rhode Island for such a game (the current cycle puts them in Durham in 2015). Of course, Dartmouth would be a natural, but I get the impression they don't want to play UNH after this contract is completed.

?? When did we play Butler?? Perhaps you mixed this up with Drake a few years ago? St. Mary's was 15 years ago and a rare California appearance. About once a decade we might get out that far. We did have a home and home with Wofford back in the late '90's, and won both. I was hoping we'd play El Cid while Higgins was there, but Kevin said they needed the 'payday' games.

You are correct, it was Drake. FYI, the Wofford deal was a 2 for 1. Wofford bailed on the second game in PA for a payday game a couple of years in a row. Then I think we just stopped asking.

I doubt this will be a profitable game. I wonder if this is related to our ongoing OOC scheduling problems. We already had 1 D-2 scheduled for this year when Jacksonville unexpectedly backed out and we had to add UVA-Wise instead - probably not a big difference in quality of opponent, but it hurts at play-off selection time. We have had problems building a decent OOC FCS schedule.

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfoot2/news/news.aspx?id=4699693

I can't imagine Idaho's guarantee more than $200,000. What with their 18,000 seat facility, how much cash can they pay for 1-AA games?

#UND (https://twitter.com/hashtag/UND?src=hash) possibly Sept.19th? RT@UNIPantherAD (https://twitter.com/UNIPantherAD) Close to finalizing 2015 FB schedule with a home/home series with a Big Sky opponent. -Izzo

@DomIzzoWDAY (https://twitter.com/DomIzzoWDAY) No...our UND scheduling hasnt gotten beyond hoops just yet. Would be a great series though - UNI AD Troy Dannen

You guys could always finish off the series with Lehigh to pave the way for a home and home series going forward.

What makes this unusual, is Yale will play 4 straight road games which is unheard of.

Oct. 3 at Lehigh
Oct. 10 at Dartmouth
Oct. 17 at Maine
Oct. 24 at Penn

Also, I hear that this will be a home and home series with Maine coming to the Bowl on Sept 29, 2018

Agh. Wish we could play Liberty. I see another D-II team coming in, most bad FCS teams want too much money (250-400k), a good D-II will be actually better for the SOS, no low level FBS school wants anything to do with us. That is why playing a top 20 FBS team interests me.

I would be down for both PAC-12 and SEC. I think this has to do with scheduling winnable games. It makes sense to avoid NDSU if you are FBS, if we win we take down any chance of a good bowl game or the 4 team playoffs. I know some Bison fans will think there is a chance we give Alabama a scare but if not, I would pay good money to see that game in person.

Oct. 17 *at Youngstown State
Oct. 24 *Northern Iowa
Oct. 31 *at Missouri State
Nov. 7 *Illinois State
Nov. 14 *at South Dakota
Nov. 21 *at Western Illinois

That is a dang nice schedule. Very winnable FBS game, solid FCS team at home and a FCS counter at home that should be very winnable. Plus NDSU and Northern Iowa at home and no Southern Illinois.

Still waiting on one more OOC opponent, but this is what we've got so far. Also, not completely sure about @ Hampton but I was under the impression that us hosting them last season was the first part of a home & home.

Sorry, hadn't had my coffee yet and completely glossed over the 11 game thing. I guess we probably won't be playing a game on 08/29, or maybe we'll have two BYEs...I dunno. Also there's the possibility I'm wrong about the Hampton game, so we could still be waiting on two OOCs.

Wagner will play Columbia (Ivy) and Rice (FBS) in 2015.

Since the 2010 season, the Seahawks have travelled to Richmond and Delaware, played Cornell in a two-game series, and just finished a five-game series against Georgetown. They'll pick up Columbia in 2015 along with playing up against Rice of Conference USA.

"We want to continue to play those games (Ivy League and Patriot League) because you're lining up against schools with great academic profiles and traditionally good football," said Hameline. "Lafayette has been playing football for a long time (since 1882)."

From Chip Malafronte of the New Haven Register (9/13):
New Central Connecticut State football coach Pete Rossomando plans to be ambitious when it comes to his non-conference schedule. He says he’d like to pursue an annual FBS opponent, with an eye on UConn and Boston College, as well as top FCS competition like Montana and three-time defending national champ North Dakota State. About the only thing he rules out is a game against his former employer, New Haven. Nothing personal. But when it comes to FCS teams scheduling Division II opponents, there’s little to gain and everything to lose.

Yeah, just thinking that will be odd for North Carolina as one of the games won't count for them (the game against Delaware since it's the second FCS game) but they just signed the contract this past August.

A very favorable home schedule next year with Chatty, FU, Sammy and the Cants at home. But, overall, I don't like the new SoCon rotation - this year we played Chatty, FU, WCU and Samford all on the road. It looks like we will have attractive home schedules in odd numbered years with the only big home game in even years being The Citadel - hopefully we can develop a rivalry with Mercer to make even years' schedules more attractive.

Nah I like WCU. Just don't understand the thought process behind the scheduling. H

It's called the football program being micro-managed by a liberal chancellor from 1995-2010 and during those years operating on the lowest total athletic budget in the entire Southern Conference all the while having inept athletic directors giving pay raises and extensions to coaches who damn sure hadn't earned them with the result being an athletic dept strapped for cash. The new AD along with Coach Speir has made it a point, for the time being, to find good money games without totally killing the kids.

In the meantime, an aggressive campaign to get more money and secure better business partnerships for athletics has been sought and the fruit is beginning to blossom. The Catamount Club in the last two years has netted almost $2 million, the most of any two year period and with 2014's winning record in football, more donations should begin to be the norm.

It's been a long hard road recovering from the Bardo era but WCU is slowly getting there. A&M is paying us $600,000.00 and I think UT is about $450,000.00. We will take it. GO CATS!

The Mocs are going to be SCARY next season, the offense is going to be even stronger (maybe three 1000 yard rushers) and the Defense will be even stronger than 2014. I fully expect to go into the FSU game undefeated. It's a tall order, but very do-able.

I think that there could be a hic-up in the SoCon...Maybe Citadel, maybe Wofford....I would actually rather the team experience a regular season loss (other than FSU) because a team that doesn't know that pain doesn't know how to fight back when it counts. Then again playing as the number 1 seed and having everyone gunning for you is OK too!!!!

Alcorn State
Alabama A&M

Road Games

University of Georgia
Texas Southern
Alabama State

We have 1 more game left to be scheduled. It will more than likely be another FBS school.
I'm thinking they'll probably try to squeeze out another home game

The Mocs are going to be SCARY next season, the offense is going to be even stronger (maybe three 1000 yard rushers) and the Defense will be even stronger than 2014. I fully expect to go into the FSU game undefeated. It's a tall order, but very do-able.

Who is the 3rd 1000 yard rusher?

Can I just point out that we play 6 road games. 5 of them are against FCS playoff teams (including both teams in the championship game), the 6th....Illinois.

Away games: Illinois, Coastal Carolina, Northern Iowa, Illinois State, North Dakota State, Indiana State...average 2014 Sagarin ranking of 62 (in the vicinity of Michigan, Rutgers, or Colorado State). In fact, according to those rankings, Illinois should be our second easiest away game (ahead of only Indiana State).

We're essentially playing the bottom half of the Big 10 on the road next year.

Schedule sets up pretty good for the Bison next year...open the season against two Big Sky teams (back halves of home/home with a road game in Missoula, MT and the home opener against Weber St.). Then the Bison play some ****ty DII team and another bye week before conference play starts:

Home - UNI, USD, Western IL, and MSU
Away - SDSU, ISUb, SIU, and YSU
Year 2 of missing ISUr in the uneven rotation.
