When I played there was no I-AA.:D We were D-II, I think, although I don't recall when that classification started. Lehigh, Lafayette, Delaware, Colgate, etc, were 'D-I' but generally known as "Small College" Football, especially in terms of Eastern football and the Lambert Cup.

Lehigh 1970-71, DB

Arkansas State 70 and 71. Also called "small college" as has already been noted. National Champions in 1970 (without a playoff). Won the Pecan Bowl that year. Played in Arlington, TX against the Central Missouri "Kickin' Mules".

Melman the Giraffe:White, sandy beaches; cleverly simulated natural environment; wide-open enclosures. I'm telling you, this could be San Diego . Complete with fake rocks. [Taps on a rock] Wow, that looks real.

Could have but I tore muscles in both my shoulders, and decided that football wasn't really worth the wear and tear on my body.

Power, Hey I'm from Stanford, but you must be a little younger, since we used to play you in 8 man. Had some battles in the late 70's.

When I played wasn't a I-AA, The Citadel was "major" college football.

DE 1976-1979 freshman year walk-on, senior year-captain,
