Mainly because I am having to force myself from stopping to post NDSU related rumors about New coaching changes going on.

Let's have a large mega thread for all of the FCS coaching changes.

NDSU: New Head Coach: Old DC Chris Klieman.
Rumored OC: Tim Polasek.
Rumored DC: Erntz from WIU.
Rumored QB coach: I forget his name, sorry.

Looks like potentially good hires by Klieman.

Polasek is a very good recruiter....esp Wisconsin.

Well, this is kind of old now, but Jackson State has fired their head coach and staff a week after the SCG lost. They only retained the recruiting coordinator as the interim HC. He's pretty much a contact point for recruits and current players. There are many articles on this, but here is one:
http://www.jsumsnews.com/?p=9972

There are mixed reviews on it, but support the decision. he has proven that he has maxed out at JSU.

Whew, without a permanent hire by now, how are they going to show stability before signing day?

i do not want JSU to rush this decision. whoever it will be will be a big part of JSU's next chapter in football. they need to get the right guy. there is a lot of talk of a few pack leaders though. there is word that a press conference is expected in early January. better.

our star Freshman DE left recently after this (SWAC freshman of the Year). someone might of been telling him he can play automatically at SEC (MSU/OleMiss) after going the JUCO route. if he can get going like that before the announcement of who is coming, he was never true to begin with. good luck with your future kid. xpeacexpeace.

I've said it many times - defensive turnover at UNI is like death and taxes.

He left UNI to become an Asst Head Coach at WIU with his college coach. Can't really hold that reason against him.

That's not a shock to anyone...or it shouldn't be.

Here's a dirty little secret from a couple guys I know from the team during that time frame - Farley and K are identical coaches. K spent 9 years with Farley...a couple players called him Farley Jr...even down to how they interact with ga coaches and players. So if Farley it's a jackass you all hate,I can only assume you'll think the same of K...?

I've been on this board a few months and I haven't seen too much crazy SIU-related stuff. Not sure where this is coming from.

I've been arguing for the past two years SIU has a very solid staff and that is being proven right now. We've had two years in a row where one more win probably gets us into the playoffs so I'm not too concerned with the staff changes.

Now, I wait to hear how UNI only lost to SIU because it was playing its third-string QB and the PA system at the Dome malfunctioned and other BS. xlolx I kid, my friend ... we have a great rivalry. Lots of respect for the Panther from this end.

there hasn't been a list nor announcement of progress from the university, but here are some names that are in the Jackson State chatter:

Tyrone Nix - Defensive Coordinator at MTSU (great experience, great system to plug and play, ready)
Derrick Nix - Running Backs Coach at Ole Miss (good experience, knows the MS landscape)
Tony Hughes - Assistant HC, Safeties Coach & Recruiting Coordinator at Mississippi State (great knowledge of MS youth and connections throughout the state, experience)

Jackson State has a desire to find a new coach who can recruit Mississippi. there has been a lot of premium and great players in JSU's backyard who goes straight to the big schools without looking twice at JSU. from how things been move, JSU has leap frogged Southern Miss in football output recognition. however, they're still getting the premium guys their way.

Jackson State was successful in doing this in basketball last year. even though the team is VERY young (most of the current players at that time didn't like the new approach and system, so they left) they are already doing better than last year's team by this time.

On Bisonville, it sounds like Mcfeeley is saying 3 coaches are accepting jobs to coach at NDSU with Coach K.

OC Tim Polacek- NIU TE/FBCoach (Coached at NDSU for 7 yrs. RB & Special Teams Coach)

DC Matt Entz- Western Illinois Assc. Head Coach/ DL Coach (was Defensive Line Coach/1 year as DC at UNI)

QB Coach Randy Hedberg- SIU QB Coach

If this is true, I am pumped about the selections here...

We also stole a coach from Wyoming. Their DC will be our DE coach now. xrotatehx

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State has six assistant football coaches in place on new head coach Chris Klieman (http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=598)'s staff, which takes over this week following the program's third straight NCAA Division I national championship.

Tim Polasek returns to NDSU as the offensive coordinator and running backs coach after one season at Northern Illinois, former Northern Iowa defensive coordinator and Western Illinois associate head coach Matt Entz will be NDSU's defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, former St. Cloud State head coach Randy Hedberg will be the quarterbacks coach after six seasons in that role at Southern Illinois, and Jamar Cain will be the defensive ends coach after one year as the defensive line coach and defensive coordinator at Wyoming.

Current NDSU assistant coaches Nick Goeser (http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=599) and Conor Riley (http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=596) will stay on staff. Goeser is the defensive tackles coach and has taken over as the program's recruiting coordinator, and Riley will move to offensive line coach after spending one season as the tight ends and running backs coach.

Polasek was the tight ends and fullbacks coach for a 12-2 Northern Illinois team that advanced to the Mid-American Conference championship game and Poinsettia Bowl. He spent seven seasons at NDSU being promoted from graduate assistant in 2006 to running backs coach in 2007 and also served as the special teams coordinator and was the fullbacks and tight ends coach in 2012.

Entz arrived at Northern Iowa in 2010 as the defensive line coach in Klieman's final year as the defensive coordinator at UNI. Entz was the defensive line coach in 2011 and took on coordinator duties in 2012 before joining Western Illinois as associate head coach and defensive line coach in 2013. He was an assistant coach at Winona State from 2002-09 and Wayne (Neb.) State from 1996-01.

Hedberg coached the quarterbacks for the most prolific passing offense in the Missouri Valley Football Conference this year at Southern Illinois. He was the head coach at St. Cloud State for nine seasons (1999-07) and at Minot State for eight seasons (1982-89) compiling a 92-74-2 mark overall. Hedberg was the offensive coordinator at Central Missouri (1990-95) and North Dakota (1996-98) in between head coaching jobs.

Cain was promoted from defensive line coach to defensive coordinator at Wyoming in November after spending the previous four seasons (2009-12) as the defensive line coach at Cal Poly. He spent three seasons in the Missouri Valley Football Conference as the defensive ends coach at Missouri State from 2006-08. Cain was a defensive graduate assistant on Frank Solich's staff at Ohio in 2005.

Klieman was named the 30th head coach in NDSU history on Dec. 15. He succeeds Craig Bohl (http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=593), who went 104-32 over 11 seasons from 2003-13 and was hired by Wyoming on Dec. 8.
