Southern and football coach Dawson Odums agreed Thursday to a three-year contract extension that includes a 25 percent pay raise, Jaguars athletic director Dr. William Broussard said.
The deal is subject to approval of the SU System Board of Supervisors, which next means in January.
The contract extends through the 2017 season and calls for a $175,000 base salary. Odums’ salary was $140,000 and he earned an additional $52,500 in incentives this past season after leading the Jaguars to their first Southwestern Athletic Conference championship in 10 years. Other details of the new agreement weren’t immediately known.
