They first met in 1904. But neither side cares much about it anymore as 3-8 Holy Cross hosts 1-10 Georgetown.

Kevin Kelly will be trying to avoid ending on a nine game losing streak. Of the seven Georgetown seasons since 1881 with a losing streak of six games or more, Kelly's teams own six of them (2005,06,07,08,09,13).

Actually, this would be a pretty good basis for a ongoing rivalry.

It would have a much more robust foundation than my poorly conceived Hoya/Pard FiOS rivalry; unlike Lafayette, some Hoya old-timers actually have heard of Holy Cross (up there in "Worchester").

This assumes, of course, that Georgetown will debase itself sufficiently to schedule the Crusaders once the Hoyas begin their much-anticipated All-Ivy, All-The-Time independent schedule.

I actually broached this last year but it didn't gain much traction/support.

Too far away from one another, no real history (post WW2 anyway) and I don't think GTown is long for the PL either.
