Carvin Johnson, a defensive back from New Orleans, La., transferred to Hampton from the University of Michigan last season, and in 2012, he was fourth on the team with 52 tackles and recovered three fumbles on the season. So far this year, Johnson has 53 tackles, and he had his first interception of the season on Sept. 28 at South Carolina State.
