I agree that Garoppolo is probably the front runner right now but Flanders 7.0 yards per carry is pretty spectacular especially when everybody we have faced for the last 2 years knows our offense runs through him. The amazing part of what he has done in his career is that he has been pulled due to a blowout and not played a snap in 25 quarters. Over 6 games basically that he hasn't played and still put up some monster numbers!

There are some spectacular RB's in the FCS right now. Zenner and West are both extremely impressive to watch. All 3 have what it takes to earn a check. Zenner will probably be more of a special teams guy but Flanders and West have the running styles to see time in the backfield. Zenner could succeed but i don't think he would last long due to injury. Only game i saw on West was Nova where he wasn't used that much but from what I saw his style is more NFL ready. Same with Flanders. His style helps him avoid any big hits and I see him staying fairly healthy if he keeps that up.

Nebrich is lethal....if he keeps this up on an undefeated Rams team, I can't see him falling out of the top 3. Fordham throws the ball A LOT and he's still completing over 70%...not to mention his running stats AND lack of INTs.

Crazy year thus far. My money is on Terrence West though, man that guy is unreal.

Todd Washington has been outstanding all year, as has our other corner, Harlan Miller ... we have the best pair cover corners in the country IMO. He's just a sophomore, but when it's said and done, Miller will be better than both both Robert Alford and Washington.

Had Youyute worked out at QB, Jerrick would be splitting time playing offense, defense, and special teams. The fact that we have scout players on the O-line and he still rushes for 200 yards from the fullback position is also powerful testimony to his talent.

I haven't seen a player develop physically like Jerrick. His body is unreal in terms of strength and speed. I really wish we played him at DB so he could get better looks and some experience for a possible NFL career.

I would say he is #2 for voting in this behind the EIU QB. EIU QB is going to be a top 4 round draft pick if he keeps it up. People like the Cornell QB as well. He has much less talent around him than anyone else and is still looking good on film. I think Nebrich is definitely #2 in voting at this point but could pass JG if he goes undefeated and keeps pace and JG loses 1 or 2 and his numbers dip at all.

If he doesn't do something in the next two weeks I would certainly take him off. I see Haley left him on as well. I fully expect to remove him next week if he doesn't play or has bad numbers.

Tull is very good. I would say he is the #3 DE I have seen on tape this year behind just Daly and Hodges.

Todd won't have numbers because we play predominantly man coverage and teams don't throw at him much ... tough to get picks in man, though he does have 7 passes broken up ... we also rotate a ton of guys.

Put it like this ... we played man across the board vs SFA and pretty much shut down their passing game ... not many folks have been able to do that.

Why isn't Jordan Johnson, the Montana qb, on the Payton list? In my view, it is an embarrassment to FCS football and whoever puts together this list, to not have him on the list.

Johnson is playing at or close to all-american status.

No interceptions in 6 games. The only qb in the nation who doesn't have an interception.

No. 2 in nation in passing efficiency (186), slightly behind Adams of EWU.

16 TD's in 6 games. I think this is 5th in nation in TD's per game. 60% completion percentage.

No. 2 in nation in passing yards per completion (16.95).

14th in points responsible per game.

Has picked up some yardage running.

Is the straw that stirs the Montana drink.

Team is 5-1 and ranked in the top 10. Team runs a balanced offense.

He's been pretty close to perfect. What gives?

McGhee is on there because he started on there. Unless he has a few big games before the next change, and I don't think he is going to stay on there.

JJ should be on there I agree. But keep in mind there are 37QBs with more passing yards per game than JJ. He is very efficient, but he doesn't put up passing yards.
