I think they are definetly improved this year, but CP's offense seems to struggle without their stud RB Noble

Well, as a guy who has seen both teams live, I say Southern Utah can win. Cal Poly's offense is pretty mediocre, and Southern Utah doesn't have the worst offense in the world. If SUU plays well, they can beat Cal Poly.

The Great West is going to tough to pick now too. Davis @ Poly next week will be a big game.

A win is a win. And you are correct about Davis coming in the favorite.

I just got home from the game. Southern Utah came to play! The Cal Poly offense was non existent for the first 3 quarters and they turned the ball over 3 times. The Defense is awesome. They only allowed one score and that was after the offense turned over the ball deep in their own territory. The other SUU TD was on a blocked punt. The big play offense woke up in the 4th quarter, again thanks to big plays by the D. Southern Utah is much better than given credit for. The Great West should be tight.

Neither team really managed to do much of anything for most of the game. SUU's two scores were off of turnovers, one scored directly on a blocked punt and the other off a fumble recovery with a short field to work with. Poly had a pair of huge touchdown passes, but overall the offenses for both teams seemed about even (haven't seen a box score, that's just my impression from seeing the game). I thought we were done for, but the team really came through in the last quarter.

My overall impression: SUU is no longer a guaranteed bottom feeder in the GWFC, and Poly is definitely not the #5 team in the country. They probably shouldn't even be top 10 until we can put up 20 points against anyone that isn't DII. Davis has gotta like their chances next week, but that's why we play the games.

Ellerson needs to dump the two quaterback system....it doesn't work! :bang:
I made the 2-1/2 hour trek to watch a pitiful display of offense....but certainly an awesome defense and a great nail biter game in the end!

UC Davis is licking their collective chops in anticipation of next Sat's showdown! Let's hope Ellerson makes the right choices on offense. Stop trying to fool the opponent with the 2 QB switcharoo...nobody is buying it and the option lateral is obviously not well practiced based on what I saw last night!

We need to pack the stadium and make more noise...last night fourth quater was pretty intense....step it up a notch! xsmileyclapx
