We also have a few I-A vs I-AA games including Sam Houston St traveling to defending Rose Bowl champion Texas and the very late game, Eastern Illinois going to the islands to face Hawaii.

An exciting week as always! Featured I-AA games from the TT's vantagepoint are Montana @ Portland St, New Hampshire @ Delaware, Jacksonville St at Eastern Kentucky and Furman @ Wofford...

St. Peter's is THAT bad!

Our #1 QB didn't dress this week or last week vs. Albany (injury).

Our #2 QB played only the first half today. The #3 QB played 3rd Q and our 4th string QB played the 4th Q.

No starters played much, if at all in the 2nd half. Our Defense scored too, so it not like we were running it up.

Certainly CCSU is rebounding from the loss to Albany and is looking to restablish themselves as a top I-AA team!

Blue Devils Dominant in 60-Point Victory at St. Peter's
CCSU Sets School Record for Points in a Game on Saturday
Sept. 30, 2006

Jersey City, NJ - Senior Justise Hairston rushed 17 times for 182 yards and three touchdowns as the Central Connecticut football team improved to 4-1 overall on the season with a convincing 73-13 victory on the road at St. Peter's on Saturday afternoon. The 73 points is the best offensive performance in school history for the Blue Devils and the 60-point margin of victory is the second-largest in the 68 seasons of CCSU football. The Blue Devils scored touchdowns via the rush, pass, a blocked punt and a fumble return in the game. They forced five Peacock turnovers and five different Blue Devils scored touchdowns for the first time in their careers.

With UCA adding five more games from the SLC to add to the two they played this year, that's seven games of their schedule...

Missouri St is team #8 and they have three left after that. One would assume they'd have a Div II foe come to Conway to get to #9. Two games left. Perhaps they have home/home with one of those I-AAs or perhaps one of the Div IIs?

SDU looked tired in the fourth. Great game by Fairooz even though he didn't catch too many. Shows he's a team player. Offense looked confused half the game. Sure am glad it wasn't Ill. State with the way we played today! But overall nice win. SDU has to be proud even in defeat! :hurray:

Sounds like a tough night for some teams..:bang:
Tonight I witnessed an 81 yard punt! I have never seen anything like that before! It had a perfect spiral on it and it blew past the return man for USD. Incredible. I hope someone has that one on video! I can't believe Logan only had 78 yards of rushing...he must have had more....

From UCAsports.com:

The other special teams highlight was a school-record 81-yard punt by Paul in the third quarter. The old mark was 79 yards set by Mark Osburn in 1980.

You're telling me it was 81 yards IN THE AIR?!

Coach Conque said, from watching the video, James Paul's school-record punt, officially recorded at 81 yards, traveled 67 yards in the air and rolled at least 7 yards out of the back of the end zone for an actually distance of about 98 yards.

"I've never seen anything like it, in practice or in a game," Conque said. "That thing just took off."

The previous record of 79 yards was set by Mark Osburn against Northwest Missouri in 1980.
