What's the craziest play your team has ever run?

May have been a stretch up 18 late in the 4th, but it was the first time I had seen this one run by anyone. Apparently it's been in the playbook for a little over 2 years and this was the first time it has actually been uncovered and open.

That one is pretty good too. But it was unintentional.

UCA ran a Hail Mary with a twist. Since the qb couldn't throw it 80 yards but could get it to the 10 yard line, the bears set up a pass and tip backwards play with 2 receivers. Pass was perfect but the tip missed the second receiver by 2 yards otherwise it works perfect and the bears score the game winning TD.

Though not a trick play, I felt it worth sharing since it is somewhat similar to the initial post. Down 25-21, the Lehigh FB catches a blocked punt out of the air against Monmouth a couple weeks back, and runs 37 yards to set up the go ahead, game winning drive in the 4th quarter.

Best one I've seen was called Big Boy. Ran it during the Hatcher years, and it actually came from his (I think 7 year old at the time) son Ty.

We ran it twice when he was coach and it scored both times. I'm at work right now but maybe a fellow Georgia Southern fan will help me out and post the video.

The craziest play that Coastal has run is not known for how elaborate it was, just the result. The infamous play is called Super Safety.

In 2005 Coastal is having a pretty good run. Knocked off defending national champs JMU and have a 9-1 record, only loss is to eventual national champs App State and looking good as an at-large playoff selection. Our last game is at Charleston Southern, we had beaten them fairly easily the previous two years and this was supposed to be a lock. Coastal is winning, up by a score late in the game and we decide to run Super Safety, a play designed to run out the clock. We are in a punt formation with plenty of field behind us, ball is snapped to our star WR Jerome Simpson - his sole job is to run around back toward the endzone, run out the clock and eventually step out the back of the endzone. Well he steps out at the one yard line with a few seconds to go. CSU ends up tying the game and winning in overtime and ended up with a share of their first and only BSC title.

Worst. Play. Ever.

Not exactly what you're asking but the "craziest plays" I've seen App run was in 2011 when App ran RB Cadet up the middle on 1st down on every single series against Furman...I mean EVERY series....and they simply put 9 in the box and prepared for second down and 10 or 11 to go.

The craziest play I remember was around 2009 when AE went back to pass, scrambled around in circles, dropped the ball, went back and picked it up, scrambled some more and then competed a pass downfield. Don't remember the opponent, but it was at The Rock.

About 10 years ago Lehigh came out in a game against Penn with split tackles (think trips to both sides). They had a whole series of plays for that formation, and ran it quite successfully for a couple of years. It was quite "crazy" at the time. No, not so much. Hell, Princeton even used it against us last week.

Furman doesn't run too many trick plays in general, and the ones we do use are usually against FBS opponents. My favorite I ever saw in person was the 2004 game against Pitt when Ingle Martin lateraled to our best receiver Isaac West, who then threw a 43 yd touchdown pass to our other best receiver Brian Bratton. It was a perfectly timed and executed play that gave us a 14 point lead.

Wasn't on purpose, but in that 2010 ASU-UTC game, when ASU QB Deandre Presley passed it to Brad Cline, who fumbled, then Presley scooped it up and ran it in for a touchdown. not every day you see a quarterback complete a pass, recover a fumble, and score a touchdown all in the same play.
