It seems like penalties are killing these teams tonight. Cal Poly has had key penalties the last two times it has been in the red zone and has ended up settling for field goals. Portland State came up with a couple of clutch plays from Sibley to avoid a TD and stay within striking distance.

There was a stream for this Root Network broadcast that was working briefly in the third quarter for me, but it died and hasn't been found since. Too bad.

Bad move by Portland State. In a 10-point game, after a fourth-and-two substitution penalty turned into a fourth and seven from the 18, the Vikings don't go for the field goal (having missed a 21-yarder earlier in the half) and have an incomplete pass on fourth down. PSU comes away with no points in the red zone again. 38-28 Cal Poly with about five minutes left.

Hmm, this is the same Howard team that lost by like 900 points to an ODU that is about as good as THE citadel right? I'm pretty sure I can transitive property this into a victory over the Minnesota Vikings :D.

Penalties just seemed huge tonight for both games - lots of key penalties in the Big Sky game, and the Howard/NC A&T game saw Howard rack up a hundred yards just in penalties - and lose, despite outgaining the Aggies.

Around 1 AM Eastern, iirc, possibly later. And yeah, lots of big plays called bag and moments of momentum snapped on both sides.

Looks like New Hampshire/Lehigh may be the best early game (starting at 12:30) - Lehigh has rolled off two straight road wins to start 3-0 and return home for their first game since their overtime win against Central Connecticut - anyone know how excited Bethlehem is for this game?

Other 12:00 Eastern games: Cornell at Yale; Fordham at St. Francis; Butler at Jacksonville. Monmouth at Columbia also kicks off at 12:30.
