HOWEVER, last year Northern Arizona beat the Griz for the first time in about 15 to 20 years.

I agree. The Griz appear to be a solid team again this year, but it's tough to say whether they are a top 10 at the moment. NAU has been very unimpressive thus far, so this could turn into a blowout.

That is the way I see it too... could be a blowout based on how the teams looked in these early games.
However, NAU's hoping for more than one win in two decades, their RB Baumann ate our lunch last year, and at 7,000 feet Flagstaff is always a tough place to visit.
The polls are especially meaningless this early in the season. We need to see a half dozen games or so to size everyone up. Hope they nail this one down. Go Griz.

Lehigh can only win this game by playing the first quarter with fourth quarter intensity...and not burn out. Weather forecast looks stupendous, so long as not serious wind, it could be high scoring to say the least. LU has to take some risks on defense to create some TO's to shift momentum or hopefully some extra scores. Taking risks can open one up for a quick strike the other way, but I don't see how we can win playing a 'vanilla' D. Opportunities will occur on offense, so we need to 'hold' UNH to 30 points or under to have a shot.

UNH has had Lehigh's number historically. Shockingly so imo. The Hawks will have to win the turnover battle and make a special teams play to win. Lehigh has the weapons/athletes on offense to put up 24-28 points .
I'm just not sure the undersized defense can keep the UNH offense to 35 or so points to have a legit shot. If UNH scores less than 30 Lehigh wins imo.

Ultimately Lehigh needs to prove they can STILL compete with the better teams in the country. 75% of the roster has seen it done.... To go 1-1 against UNH and Fordham would be great. Even two close losses should keep fans optimistic. A league title and a realistic chance to do damage in the playoffs should be the goal.

Lehigh outplayed New Hampshire pretty badly from the 2nd quarter on.

Also, as I noted up-thread, one of the biggest keys for Lehigh was how good they were on 3rd down offensively, especially in the 2nd half.

Lehigh did have receivers wide open on many plays. New Hampshire's defense left something to be desired for much of the game today.

UNH's QB has good wheels, but looks a little rough passing the ball.

This was the best LU QB performance since Lum went off against Towson. I know BB would like to have that last INT back but it wasn't his fault. He and Kurfis should be on the next payton watch list.

I'm extremely impressed with LU's team speed on defense. They are undersized but they make up for it with their wheels....

Sour grapes UNHWC18. You didn't have the talent on defense to do the job. Pretty simple. The better team won. UNH didn't play that badly, they simply got outplayed. B was throwing lasers and the LU D was incredible when it counted. That's how you win games. I also think keeping the UNH defense out on the field for so long helped. Three straight three and outs must have been frustrating for the offense.

While I agree that our d played terrible and your qb was all over them, I still don't think that you are an overall better team. Just was better on this given Saturday. Still doubt you would fair better than us in caa play, now you get to play cupcakes besides Fordham for the next 6 weeks.
