Lafayette did beat Penn each of the last two years. Having said that, Penn did improve significantly as last season progressed (though that was in part because the Ivy League was very weak last year), and has most of their players back this season. I think the Quakers win a close one over the Leopards.

The Ivy curse will rear its ugly head at some point... the way this season is going, this year might be it.

Disappointed in you Ivy guys.... staying on topic and focusing on the thread's theme...

Georgetown at BROWN - No Brainer number 1

COLUMBIA at Fordham - Such an incredible mismatch that it doesn't make the No Brainer list.

Bucknell at CORNELL - At last a competitive game.

DARTMOUTH at Butler - No Brainer number 2.

HARVARD at San Diego - Number 3.

Lafayette at PENN - Hijacked from another thread: You just can't beat a Lafayette-Penn game for bad coaching and bad football.

Lehigh at PRINCETON - Princeton is better, but Lehigh has played a few games.

YALE at Colgate - Yale is bad, but so is Colgate without QB McCarney.

To be even more correct, it's 5 of the last 6 - and with Penn having the superior talent in each and every one. Question of the week: Who took Al Bagnoli's SATs for him?

DARTMOUTH at Butler - No Brainer number 2.

While I think Dartmouth will/should win, I wouldn't call it a no-brainer.

Butler did win the Pioneer last year, Sagarin thinks that they'd be a middle-of-the-pack Ivy team, and it's Dartmouth's first time flying to a game since the 1950s.

Just a two-cent thought here - while it's "week one" for Ivy, it's actually "week four" of the FCS football season. To date some teams have played one, two or three games (or even none in the case if Ivy) but it's easier for idiots like me to find and keep track of all the AGS pick 'em threads if they're temporally consistent.

That said, my "week four" Ivy picks are:

Brown 26, Georgetown 9

Fordham 35, Columbia 13

Bucknell 14, Cornell 13

Butler 28, Dartmouth 16

Harvard 31, San Diego 10

Penn 14, Lafayette 6

Princeton 24, Lehigh 21

Colgate 31, Yale 7

The Animation Laws of Physics:

Any body suspended in space will remain in space until made aware of its situation. Then the regular laws of gravity take over. This is why anthropomorphic characters in particular can defy gravity for elongated amounts of time (the character walks off the edge of a cliff, remains suspended in midair, and doesn't fall until he looks down). If this is referenced by a character in the animation as "defying the law of gravity," it is often explained that the character(s) involved have "never studied law."

Any body passing through solid matter (usually at high velocities) will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter (the "silhouette of passage").

Certain bodies can pass through solid walls painted to resemble tunnel entrances; others cannot. Corollary: Portable holes work.

All principles of gravity are negated by fear (i.e., scaring someone causes him to jump impossibly high in the air).

Any violent rearrangement of feline matter is impermanent (in other words, cats heal fast and/or have an infinite number of lives). Corollary: Cats can fit into unusually small spaces.

Everything falls faster than an anvil (a falling anvil will always land directly upon the character's head, regardless of the time gap between the body's and the anvil's respective drops). Pianos and bank safes also are subject to this law.

Any vehicle on a path of travel is at a state of indeterminacy until an object enters a location in the path of travel (coyote walks into road and gets run over by a bus).

When in doubt, animation follows the ordinary laws of physics — unless it is funnier otherwise.

That's a pretty good Frankosaur score. Any luck, Lafayette 4, Penn 3. Bagnoli strikes twice.
