First it was the incredible 21 1/2 point favorites that Samford was over Georgia State. Then Chatty was favored over Georgia State in Week 2.

Now, though, it appears to be a thing.

Head coach Mario Cristobal changed that, but he was fired after one subpar season.

Now, FIU has once again sunk to the bottom of the FBS.
It’s gotten so bad at FIU this season that the Panthers are three-point underdogs to Football Championship Subdivision school Bethune-Cookman, according to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald.

Granted, it is largely due to the ineptness of the schools at the bottom of the pecking order, but still... this is pretty remarkable.

It is amazing.

And FIU really screwed up firing Cristobal

The fact that they fired him after he turned down higher level jobs showed me that they screwed over a very loyal man. I bet that he will surface as a head coach somewhere- I wish him well.

FIU, on the other hand, has nothing but my contempt.

That would be great, but history is against the MEAC (no wins versus FBS).

It's not very remarkable at all when you consider Ga State is still playing pretty much the same guys who went 1-10 in the CAA. They're not even low hanging fruit for the FCS; they're on the ground waiting for teams to pick them up.
