I was going to watch this game, but CP just isn't being competitive. I feel like I can better use my time doing something else.

Fresno 41 - Cal Poly 25

Cal Poly turns things around in the second half after Chris Brown comes in at QB. Two punts returned for TDs by Fresno. Looks like Poly has some work to do on special teams.

Glad us Bulldog fans didn't get a repeat of 1979's 26-0 loss to the Mustangs.

Great highlight video of Cal Poly's second half with Chris Brown at QB. Definitely a completely different team in spite of Fresno putting in reserves temporarily during the late 3rd quarter - early 4th. When Cal Poly threatened to come within 1 score, they put back in most of the starters, but Cal Poly kept rolling. Fresno is a very good team. I predicted they would win the Mountain West before the season began, and I'll stick with that prediction. Cal Poly was NOT going to win this game, but I think they're much better than the first half of this game might have indicated. This highlight video of Chris Brown at QB is worth a watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=AytGo_ta4aM

The big story (besides Cal Poly's D being very good vs. Fresno) was Chris Brown..

I know you posted it above Bojeta, here's the embeded version of Chris Brown's highlights of the little more than 1 quarter he played:

Brown and Trosin are definitely the future Quarterbacks for Cal Poly- and that means more of a deep threat than we've had in the last few years.

Cal Poly lost in total points (mostly due to poor special teams play, the 2 punts returned for TDs) however, out-gained Fresno both in the air and on the ground in total yardage.. Chris Brown forced Fresno to bring their starters back in, and they didn't do that well (a lot of excuses about them being mentally out of the game etc.). Have to give Brown some serious credit and hopefully he'll be #1 on the depth chart at QB, with Trosin at #2 (but likely Graves will still be #2)

What's the explanation for the coach using a recipe for failure for over half the game? If switching QB's was really all CP needed to win this game, why didn't the second QB start in the first place?

Exactly the question many of us Cal Poly Alumni are asking! Having said that, I know there are dynamics at practice, in class sessions etc. that only the coaches are aware of. They made the best call based on what they saw, but when it came to a game time against a high quality opponent, it was Chris Brown that had what it took. My 2 cents anyhow.
