The buzz word for 2006 is "separation Saturday". This a really just a term coined by ESPN, and even they failed to provide a definition. Some how this is supposed to be the week that most upper-end clubs begin to separate themselves from the rest of the pack.

Seperation Saturday was a term used because there were 7 games involving 14 top 25 teams in I-A last weekend, thus the winners are more likely contender and moved up while the losers were pretenders and moved down, or in the case of Miami fell completely out of the top 25.

No SLC at all until #17? SLC ranked #6 of the conferences...

Regardless of the meshugana running this "poll"...SLC has fallen on hardtimes and even Pete himself in his "ballot" notes as much...

Glad to see Bethune Cookman and Jacksonville State in this poll. I voted for them in the AGS poll. I feel better about my choices now.

Interesting that he ranks three A-10 teams in the top 5, yet ranks the conference third.

I noticed that one too, I don't know whether his conference rankings are by team rankings or some other test. The only thought I had is he must think the A-10 is bottom heavy, if so I'm not sure who that would be. I cannot believe our bottom teams are that bad in comparision to some other conferences bottom teams.

He's got Montana too high. We haven't proved anything yet.

Lafayette 14th?!?!? GSU 15th?!?!?

Only two of the glaring inadequacies. Pete, unfortunately, is smokin' most of what he's growin'.
