Eastern Illinois of the OVC takes down San Diego State of the Mountain West 40-19.

Eastern Washington of the Big Sky takes down #25 Oregon State of the Pac 12 49-46.

McNeese State of the Southland takes down South Florida of the AAC 53-21.

Northern Iowa of the MVFC takes down Iowa State of the BigXII 28-20.

Southern Utah of the Big Sky takes down South Alabama of the Sun Belt 22-21.

Towson of the CAA destroys Connecticut of the AAC 33-18.

Samford of the Socon handles Georgia State of the Sun Belt 31-21.

North Dakota State of the MVFC beats #26 Kansas State of the BigXII 24-21

Close calls (one score games)

William and Mary of the CAA falls just short of West Virgina of the BigXII 17-24, but lead most of the game.

Southern Illinois of the MVFC Falls just shy of Illinois of the Big Ten 34-42

Liberty of the Big South falls short against Kent State of the MAC 10-17.

Not as close but also good showings

Howard of the MEAC puts up a fight against Eastern Michigan of the MAC 24-34

Villanova of the CAA puts up a fight against Boston College of the AAC 14-24

All of the FBS FCS games for week 1 have concluded. 8 wins were registered and there were 3 close calls.

Howard was able to hang with Eastern Michigan all game and only lost by 10, 34 - 24. This was a great showing for a MEAC program.

In fact, they were up 24 - 14 part of he way through the 4th quarter.

This needs to be added the close call list. Deserves mention. You are right. Great showing.

I was going to add Villanova and Howard, but I cut the list at a one touchdown (8 or less) Margin of loss.

Ill add another category to get them in the post.

Yeah, I saw that you added that requirement after I posted. But we mentioned them in the thread for good measure! So its all good.

I added them in another category. I was impressed by howard, EMU is usually pretty bad, but that is no small feat for a school coming from a conference that is usually looked down upon by the FCS powers.
