The 15th annual John Merritt Classic features a contest between top ranked HBCU squads #1HBCU Bethune-Cookman @ #4HBCU Tennessee State. This will be the B-CU Wildcats first appearance at the Classic. #4 (and last season's #1) TSU Tigers improved to 10-4 all-time in the Merritt Classic with a 17-14 season opening victory against Florida A&M last year and finished the season 8-3, the most wins in an 11 game season since 2001.
