So far we've seen the teams that haven't put together a consistent season in decades (if ever)...GSU and App leaving is definitely bad for the conference but I think Wofford will prove to be a consistent force and the Citadel may just start to step up this year.

The new Sun Belt is incredibly polarized. Sure it's great to have two guaranteed wins in USA and GaSt, but neither of our schools are going to dominate ULL, Troy ect right out of the gate. That is just wishful thinking.

About what I expected. Georgia State would definitely be bottom 3 in SoCon. Samford will face a much tougher OOC challenge from SE La and we'll have to play a much better offensive FB game to win that one.

I think you're wrong. USL has exactly ONE good season in 120 years of football and a collective winning percentage of .489....Troy's got a losing record against former members of the Southland conference since they moved up...

If App doesn't stomp the **** out of those two from the git-go, something's wrong...

I think he's right. I don't expect GSU and APp State to run shop right away, but I do expect both teams will be in the top 5 of that conference in the first season. After a few years of recruiting I can see us being perennial top 3 teams in that conference.

Boy does that put a little more pressure on UTC in a couple of weeks. Anyone that follows FCS football would have expected a Samford victory tonight and a UTC victory in 2 weeks.

I see it that way too. If we get to 12 and have a championship game, we both have a very good shot of getting there. But that title would be another story....
