Kansas State is the absolute favorite. I have a ton of respect for NDSU but the Bison simply have not faced a team of KState's caliber. I know a lot of Bison fans are picking themselves to win but as a neutral observer I don't see it.

This is what is so cool about FCS. There is nice comradery that exists among FCS fans. Last night I cheered on Towson taking down Connecticut and then flipped over to Southern Utah against Southern Alabama. I felt excited and proud for both teams after their wins. A few years ago I would have had no interest in these games.

I know everyone brings up Appy vs Michigan but isn't JMU over VTech just as impressive? A team that didn't even make the playoffs beat a BCS Bowl team. Granted, that Michigan team had two known starts in Henne and Hart and were within a whisker of playing for the national title a year earlier.

Looking at results, I think of JMU-VT as more of an upset than ASU-UM, mainly because JMU missed the playoffs both years around and beat a BCS bound VT team, where as ASU was mid-3-peat, and UM had a sub-par season.

However, if the Bison can track the App method of winning against a BCS team en route to a 3-peat, I'd hope for a similar end opponent.

the KSU qb is a Iowa kid that didn't get an offer from the state schools in Iowa because Iowa plays summer baseball and he played that instead of going to camps. That left just game film, which while very impressive, was against the 2 smallest 11 man class in the state.
It also irritated Iowa and Iowa State that he wouldn't quit baseball to do what they wanted.

He went JUCO to a newer JUCO in Iowa that had already sent dozens of players d1. He had an offer from UNI but I still don't think either if the FBS schools in Iowa offered him...neither did Nebraska (his hs was just a couple miles from Nebraska). He got interest from Bama but picked KSU.

He is one if a handful of players that have fans of Iowa schools calling for an over haul of some recruiting methods...especially Iowa and isu who almost never offer Iowa kids...UNI is a HUGE benefactor of that
