May be worth taking Fordham but don't know about the 120... seems high.

In the games that I am highly familiar with...

App State and Georgia State are probably pretty good bets.

Chattanooga would have to deliver one of their worst performances of the Russ Huesman era not win cover that spread.


The Georgia Southern is a ton of points and I still think they cover by at least 15. won't touch app travelling across country. Even if it isnt a great Montana team, the home field will be big. Also, we need to see App's motivation this year being ineligible.

120 is just the vig. its 20% of your bet if you lose. normal is 10%. Makes it even harder to bet FCS.

That JMU line is, um, interesting.

#3 isn't me being a homer. Savannah State is going to have a truly horrible team this year. They didn't even have their coach hired for spring practice and on top of that, Earnest Wilson is going to change their offense to a pass-heavy spread. It's going to be a hideous game.

The JMU/CCSU line is way too low in my opinion as well. Especially after last year's nightmare of a season for Central.

But let's not forget that just 2 seasons ago the Blue Devils went down to Harrisonburg for the first game in the sold-out and expanded Bridgeforth Stadium and lost a heartbreaker 14-9. CCSU was down 7-3 and driving for a score with less than 4:00 in the game before they threw a crucial INT.

I think the spread was more than 2 TDs for that game and CCSU covered.

Georgia State may be improved enough that I would not want to risk the 21.5 point spread against my Dogs. I do like the JMU and Chatty picks, but the one that I REALLY like is Southeastern Louisiana. I would favor them to win even at SEMO, but in Hammond, that looks to be a money maker to me. Thankfully I don't bet, however.

I'm not convinced that JMU is a top half CAA team. I struggle to understand why so much is expected from Michael Birdsong. He performed well against us but who doednt perform well against an Umbrella Defense down 3 scores. Take a look at his performance at home against Ga State the following week. Putrid.

I think this is the year the Dukes go 5-6 or 4-7 and Mickey finally gets canned.

By the time the UA game came around, they had packed it in for the season. Not an excuse, just the reality. Last year was a train wreck in New Britain - an awful season.

I fully expect JMU to win this game, but CCSU finished 4-7 in 2011 when they last played JMU, and still almost pulled off the upset. JMU was a Top-20 team that year and won a first round playoff game, so they were a good team. I'm really hoping last year was just an aberration and CCSU returns as a top NEC contender. If so, and if JMU is having a "down" year, Central should at least keep it close.

Reading this thread makes me want to come out of retirement. But one thing that concerns me is the new "don't hit too hard" rule that will supposedly be rigorously enforced by NCAA refs. Like the NFL is these days, there could be way too many game changing penalties that were considered standard tackles for the past 50 years. Makes it hard to bet.
