Grider earned his third varsity letter after starting eight games total at both left and right guard in 2012. He played in nine contests as a sophomore in 2011, earning one start at right guard. He was pressed into action early in his career due to injuries and showed great promise in nine contests (eight starts), as a freshman in 2010. He is versatile enough to play tackle or guard and will have a chance to earn a starting role heading into the 2013 campaign.

At Oconee County
Grider was a first-team all-league and all-region lineman as a senior at Oconee County HS. The team’s most improved player as both a junior and senior, he earned the Rock Solid Lineman of the Year Award in 2009. A two-year starter on both lines, he posted 28 pancake blocks at offensive tackle and notched 35 tackles with five sacks, a pair of pass breakups a blocked kick and a forced fumble at defensive end.
