He was pressed into action early in his career due to injuries and showed great promise in nine contests (eight starts), as a freshman in 2010. He is versatile enough to play tackle or guard and will have a chance to earn a starting role heading into the 2013 campaign.

At Oconee County
Grider was a first-team all-league and all-region lineman as a senior at Oconee County HS. The team’s most improved player as both a junior and senior, he earned the Rock Solid Lineman of the Year Award in 2009. A two-year starter on both lines, he posted 28 pancake blocks at offensive tackle and notched 35 tackles with five sacks, a pair of pass breakups a blocked kick and a forced fumble at defensive end.
