New DC for Gate?

I was on the gate board and there is "speculation" that they have hired Paul Shaffner (former LC DC) as their new DC.

I don't know if this is true but can Pard fans or anyone else share some insight/background on him?
his stint as a HC at 2 different stops didn't seem to go so wel.....

Shaffner was a long time DC at Lafayette under Bill Russo during the time that Frank Tavani also was an assistant. Tavani was elevated to Head Coach during the "Dark Age" of Pardsville football in 1999 when Art Rothkopf, Lafayette's former President, dried to destroy the program. That's when Shaffner left, along with just about everyone else. Shaffner's defenses stood up well during his tenure, including several fairly substantial wins over Colgate. Keep in mind that Lafayette was truly "non-scholarship" at that time. There are several people on the Lafayette Board who played at that time.
