Well in his defense, he can't post the whole article here or it would be a violation of digital content copyright laws, so you'd still need to click a link to go to the site. Although, for what it is worth, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act is kind of vague on links and the majority of institutions teach that linking to anything other than the main page (for example, a direct link to an article) is a copyright violation as well.

That being said.... http://www.delawareonline.com/article/20130414/SPORTS07/304140043/Tresolini-Time-UD-bolt-CAA

Twenty years ago, the Atlantic 10 went trolling for new members. It cast a line into Newark, hoping to reel in the Blue Hens.

They wouldn’t bite.

University of Delaware officials wouldn’t say much at the time. In fact, they hardly seemed greatly swayed by the invite.

The A-10 was then, as it is now, a league with a sturdy men’s basketball reputation. That was very alluring.

But Delaware eyed the prospect with a wide and thorough perspective and determined, for all of its sports, staying in what was then the North Atlantic Conference made more sense. The NAC later was renamed America East.

The A-10, Delaware also observed, was made up primarily of smaller, private schools, many of them Catholic. The NAC, composed primarily of state universities from New England, was a much better fit for a school like Delaware.

Times have changed. The Atlantic 10, one can safely assume, is on the hunt again.

And if Delaware is a target – and there are indications it may be – it’s time to jump.....

I simply live by the sage advice of my dear, old departed Uncle Olaf, who once said, "Ya ain't violatin' nuthin' if ya manip-lee-ate yer own browser software to stop engaging the scripts that generate the paywall login layer in the first place." Sure, Olaf was a crusty ol' PL snoot, but he sure knew how to save a buck.

The A-10 wants Delaware, huh? How clueless can one be? After all, the A-10 loves football so much, and...

Delaware and JMU to the A10, keeping football in the CAAFC - potentially MAC football only invites for both down the road (ala the Temple/UMass plan)?
