I'm talking to a buddy of mine on AOL-IM and he went to Bloomsburg. He is telling me they are playing with a freshmen QB and there star player is out for the week.

Says a lot about a DII team, or does it say even more about JMU in 2006?

Who is this Bloomsburg. Are they D-II? And what are they ranked in the D-II rankings?

I think they are top5 D2. But they are without their star RB (would've been DI-A if not for academic restraints, apparantly) who is out with an injury.

Bloomsburg is a good DII with an NFL prospect at RB... don't know if they are ranked

That NLF prospect would've been a decent excuse, but he's out with an injury sustained in a practice.

JMU may end up winning this by 3 TDs but it should still be cause for concern......at least until after the next game.

This one worried me a little. There's no way we can beat anyone playing like that. We played our normal "bend but don't break" defence and held them to a field goal but our offense was nowhere to be found. Rascatti held the ball way to much...he ran waaaay too much in my opinion (for those that saw it, the first time he ran, someone did an leg tackle and then someone came up for a full body takedown and I thought I saw his leg bend in ways it shouldn't.....scared me to death, but he got right up) and there were too many wide open dropped passes. I'm really hoping its just first game jitters and we play a lot better against App St...cause we're gonna need to. By the way, on a defensive note, Lezotte is amazing, but Ford is also an amazing athelete, he made some big plays. Also, our special teams looked better than usual. Our punter did really well and we got both extra points (for those that know JMU's history with kickers this could really help us out)

That was one of the most pathetic excuses of a game from the JMU Dukes football team. I tip my hat to Bloomsburg. The Huskies deserved to win the game. The Dukes were lucky to escape with a victory. In my opinion, JMU no longer deserves to be ranked in the top 25 of I-AA. Appalachian State wins big next week 52-7 at the Rock in what was supposed to be the national regular season game of 2006.

Rough start by JMU but I still expect to see JMU to play like a top ten team next week. ASU played respectably tonight but I don't expect even 52 total points next Saturday based on the poor offensive performances by both ASU and JMU earlier today.

This is a big shock. It's been my opinion that JMU's offense would carry them this year, but those stats are pathetic. With Bloomsburg's star sidelined, I expected a blowout.

In the post-game show Coach Matthews was extremely critical of our wide receivers and offensive line. :coach:

I can't wait for next week! I'm taking our student bus down to cheer on the team. Honestly, after that loss and considering it'll be an away game against last years national champion, I wouldn't be too disappointed with losing by a touchdown or two. I mean, I would love to see us win, but seeing us play tonight (if you discount the last quarter once we got on a roll finally) we played awful offensively. Rascati needs to take some shots downfield. He was getting rushed, but he could have taken an extra second or two. But like I said...another week and we'll hopefully see JMU and App St in true form.
