-90 minutes going through SC/NC Highway 107 up through Oconee County, SC into Jackson County, NC, passing through Cashiers, Glenville, and Tuckaseigee, NC before arriving at blessed Cullowhee and Western Carolina University.

- 2 hours if I hit Greenville, SC, take Hwy 25 up to I-26 over to Asheville, NC, hit I-40 west, get off at exit 27 towards Waynesville and Sylva, NC. Take exit 85 in Sylva, NC and get on Hwy 107 South, 5 miles later, blessed Cullowhee and Western Carolina University awaits.

I'll usually alternate routes for each home game. I couldn't tell you why, as I adore the scenery on both routes. I cannot WAIT for September 1st! GO CATAMOUNTS!!!

It's only an hour drive to Missoula, however traffic is already resembling summer tourist season as they pass thru on Hwy. 93 south at 9 a.m. Depending on parking situation, it's an additional 20-30 minutes to walk over to tailgate area.

about 5 minutes to the school by bike (basketball season)...10-12 minutes to the stadium (football stadium)...leave my bike in the SID office, never have to worry about a parking space.

18 miles from the Husky Alum Homestead north of Boston to Scenic Parsons field.

Time of trip depends on whether the Sox are home or if something's going on in the city. Can be as short as 20 mins, or as long as an hour.

UNH Alum, I must admit the drive from the HA Homestead to UNH in the fall is quite scenic. Never knew the name of the bridge on Route 4.

Best part about a UNH game in Durham - Newick's after the game!!!

Statesboro is about 3 hours and change, give or take, from where I live in Atlanta, not quite sure about the mileage, maybe 215 miles. Of course your have to figure in other factors that as many of you who live in a big city know, can definitely alter the trip time.

Tribe4SF -

Given that Parsons Field is on the Green Line (the Subway), you can pretty much stay anywhere that's "reasonable".

You might want to try the Holiday Inn on Beacon Street. You can actually walk there to the field, it's about a 15-20 minute walk. It's actually a REAL nice Holiday Inn, as far as Holiday Inns go.

If you want to stay in Boston proper, you'll have to pay big city rates. There's a Best Western (called the Inn at Children's) that's about 10-15 minutes from the field as well, and it's actually the hotel attached to Children's Hospital in Boston, and is pretty nice, from what people tell me. There's a HoJo's next to Fenway Park that's probably cheap, and if the Sox aren't in the playoffs, you can probably get a room there. That's also about a 15 minute walk.

If this year's game is half as exciting as last year's tilt in the 'Burg, it will be a great game. I was there (I'm never going to miss an NU game at W&M, I simply love the school and am trying to plant the seed in my young daughters' heads that if they don't want to go to NU, W&M is a GREAT option), and I still agonize over the loss.

They'd be first on my list, but I was only giving UD opponents. Can't wait to see it in person!

BTW, we did do a string on the other board about how many I-AA's you can get to in 2 hours, so we won't get into that here. Anyone in the Philly-Washignton corridor usually wins that one.

A very scenic route that goes straight through the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country. Can't go too fast on 896 or you'll come over a hill or around a bend only to be staring at an orange triangle on the back of a horse-drawn buggy moving at about 5 mph in front of you! :)

I just became AmsterBison (so there are at least two DI-AA fans in The Netherlands).

Anyway, It'd probably take 12 hours travel time plus I like to get to the airport early and will have a layover in Minneapolis of an hour or so. That's 4,375 miles from the airport in Amsterdam to tailgating in with my fellow North Dakota State fans.

OTOH, I'm sure others will log more hours and travel more miles because I'll probably only make one trip back this season.

But Lawcat, the brew thru in Sylva is roughly 5 minutes from Cullowhee and the stadium, so you're not losing that much time on beer, but Jackson County does need to get into the 21st century. You know the Catamount Travel Center across 107 would make a killing on game day, IF they could sell beer and such. See you this fall. GO CATAMOUNTS!!!

Between 6.5 and 8 hours to Cambridge by car, depending on traffic and time of day. One-hour flight, but it's outrageously expensive. My brother lives in Sudbury Mass. and I have driven in Downtown Boston. Without a doubt it is the worst place in the U.S. to drive. I have driven in all the major northeast cities and none of them are fun. However, even midtown Manhattan is safer than trying to get around Boston. It is no wonder that the car insurance rates are so outrageous.

Hawaii does a good job of marketing itself, because frankly it ain't the wonderous place people seem to think it is. I'm outta this jungle as soon as I can find a job back up North. :) I went to Amherst (paradise!) for 5 days and a game last year and it cost me over $1000. Hey bkrownd WTMI (way too much information). ;) :) I know a little about the big island as my uncle owned property there. You are confusing me big time as I would never pay to see my ex or any cat (although I own my Mom's cat thru inheritance.) I would never go to Alaska to subject myself to that kind of torture. I have too many ex's in little ole' Delaware and they are quite capable of making my life miserable enough. I don't need to spread myself over the Pacific to make myself even more miserable. :spank:

So you spent money at the Mall of America in Minnesota good for you. :D :D

As for Wisconsin if it ain't a Packer's game what is the point in going?

You REALLY need to get back to the mainland as your posts don't make any sense. The steamy Hawaii Highlands have obviously baked your brain. The next thing you know you will begin imagining that UMass beat UD in a football game. This symptom suggests the beginning of psychosis and should not be taken lightly. You will need to consult a mental health professional (preferably from outside the states of Massachusetts or Hawaii)

As always I am here for your support. The first step is to recognize that one has a problem and is powerless to overcome it.

Seriously, when you live in an area that most people come to for vacation, you think of Va. (or Mass. in your case) as paradise.

Note to self....palm trees, white beaches, and blue water quickly grow old....especially when you work and the only "tropical part" you deal with is heat and humidity
