Indiana State didn't win a game all last season. Purdue must be that bad.

This article explains it all...they have nowhere to go, but up! No one is counting on them to do anything...they're letting all out on the field! Perhaps all those YSU folks need to rethink their Gateway predictions!

Nowhere to go but up
ISU coach West still looking for first Sycamore victory.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- It's possible for an Indiana State football team to win.

Lou West is convinced of that, though he has yet to have any tangible proof.

The former Notre Dame assistant (1999-2000) is starting his second year as head coach of the Sycamores and has yet to taste a victory. Eleven losses last season have forced West to turn to clichés.

"The biggest thing for us is that we've got one season under our belt," said West, who has a close eye on today's menacing opponent, Purdue. "Last year was hectic, trying to put in a new system. It was a challenge to get everyone going in the same direction; on the same page. There was a lot of discipline stuff. Now we know what we want to accomplish and how we want to accomplish it."

sorry to start that 2nd thread, didn't see the first one. ISU sure is pumped, just as long as they hang close, no way ISU wins this one though. They just need some momentum for EIU next weekend.

for those not listening, both ISU's and Purdue's defenses are rather suspect. If Purdue is gonna give up this many points to ISU, what's gonna happen in the Big 10? ISU may be involved in some high scoring games this year if they don't get any help on defense. Whether or not they win remains to be seen.

60-28 Purdue, this one's over essentially.

one last score for ISU, 60-35 is the final.

35 points against a Big 10 school is better than most ISU people thought would occur.

ISU will just have to beat Purdue's BB team this winter in Terre Haute.

Two of ISU's TDs came essentially on special teams (blocked punts) and the last TD of the game was meaningless. Purdue has a lot of new defensive players this year and they were rotated heavily in this game to see who has what when the game is on (everyone played). Are there questions for Purdue? Sure, but I'm not sure what you can tell based on this game.

I think when ISU has to play another team and the issue of depth isn't so one-sided that they will be able to hold their own. I doubt their QB will make so many bad decisions leading to INTs when he isn't under so much pressure.

Still a nice effort by the Trees. Someday they will win a game.
