It seems appropriate to say a quick bit about Georgia Southern and App State before continuing onto the main topic of this thread. First, I hope the best for both teams and I will cheer for each team with intense enthusiasm at the FBS level. That said, I hope this thread can get some focus back onto FCS football and the progress of its teams.

Here is a quick bit on Illinois State's stadium renovation. Looks like they cut a part of the project to keep the cost within budget; They're taking out the corner of the southeast side which was intended to start a horseshoe down the road. I actually like that they did this, the stadium will look more symmetrical (just my little pet-peeve which means absolutely nothing). Anyway, here is the article from the Pantagraph (http://www.pantagraph.com/sports/college/illinois-state/hancock-horseshoe-out-construction-a-little-behind-schedule/article_33221aa4-8203-11e2-b480-001a4bcf887a.html).

Here is a clear picture that shows the corner that will be cut out of the project:

I find it funny that they are shorting themselves and not actually going the distance to finish what they started.

Maybe construction costs went up. Regardless It will be an awesome facility for them. Maybe sometime down the road they can fill in the endzone.

Just HAD to ruin my good day with a thread about Illinois State, huh?

I kid, I kid. New digs are looking sharp, they should be a real solid program for years to come. I heard rumors about their coach possibly being hired away, did they hang on to him?

So how many seats will they have when completed?

Sounds like 13,000 when they finish without the horseshoe.

Has Hancock Stadium been shrinking over the years or is Wikipedia wrong? It lists a capacity of 18,000 up through 1976 and then smaller numbers after that.

Well the capacity has actually stayed the same. The stadium fits 18,000 Americans from the year 1976, however, in the year 2013, Americans are 138% the size of Americans from 1976. And now only 13,000 fit where 18,000 used to. In 2050, the expanded Fargodome will only fit 9750 people as the average weight will be 625 pounds. xsmugx

I thought you were going to say something about there being less Americans and more illegal immigrants in our country now that we have to allow into stadiums. ;)

You probably aren't too far off. :)

The Washington State ferry system had their passenger capacities reduced by the Coast Guard due to our increasing heft.

The seats at Jeld-Wen Field (home of Portland State and the Portland Timbers) has very small seats which were probably installed in the 1950s during the stadium's first renovation.

The only Sam Fans that exist on AGS are Sammy94, the rest hide during the regular season.
