In case you guys were wondering about my YSU Should join the MAC argument. It appears 6 MAC Schools:

Team Conference Record Attendance
Eastern Michigan MAC 4-7 5,219
Kent State MAC 1-10 6,658
Buffalo MAC 1-10 8,914
Akron MAC 7-6 10,893
Ball State MAC 4-7 12,953
Bowling Green MAC 6-5 14,929

are on the verge of getting in deep trouble if they don't bring their attendance to average 15,000 a game; something Youngstown St. does just about every year.

Terry Pluto of the Akron Beacon Journal, one of the best sports writers in all of Northeast Ohio, mentions that maybe Akron and Kent should look to play YSU. Then we find out Akron looked to play us this year, why? They must field a 12 game schedule.

So after ignoring us for 15 damn years and voting against our membership in the MAC, they think they can act all nice again to us and get a game: NO..... We said no because our schedule was booked solid..

Read this article: You will laugh: http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/15395574.htm

After this year, you will see why YSU should look into the MAC........

so basically you didn't say no because they "ignored you for 15 damn years", you said no because your schedule was booked. good point though.

on topic, MAC schools should (and probably are) investigate whether playing so many non-Saturday dates adversely affects their attendance. that league has been notorious for Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday games, so you may only have three Saturday home games when "attendance conditions" are optimal.
