Flacco, Warner, Gannon, any other Super Bowl starting QBs from the post-1978 1AA/FCS era?

Hopefully Flacco represents FCS better than Gannon did...

Doug Williams was Grambling '78, just missed your cut-off point.

Tremendous QB in college (17th pick overall), but being drafted by Tampa Bay certainly hurt his career, much like Ricky Bell.

Steve McNair - Alcorn State '95

Ron Jaworski -Youngstown State (again not FCS when Jaws was in college)

Phil Simms Morehead State. Phil's senior year was 1978, which was Morehead's first year in I-AA.

Stan Humphries, San Diego Chargers - NE Louisiana (LA-Monroe). QB of the 1987 I-AA national champs.

Should have remembered McNair. Had no idea Simms went to Morehead.

There was no FCS yet but Terry Bradshaw went to Louisiana Tech when they were considered small college. Another non FBS Super Bowl QB was Ken Anderson, who went to Augustana.

Wasn't Gannon's fault - stupid Callahan had never changed the terminology in the year since Gruden was the head coach so when it came Super Bowl time and they played Gruden's new team the Bucs knew what the play and audibles were even before they got called. Gannon would've beaten the Eagles that year had the Eagles not choked in the NFC title game to the Bucs. Darn Andy Reid.

Heard today that Callahan had actually changed the entire game plan on Thursday of game week for that Super Bowl. Players were not happy with that.

Hoping to see Asa Jackson from Cal Poly get some play time in the Super Bowl. Pulled a hamstring prior to the game against the Patriots. That was following a 4 week suspension. He was expected to play last week.
