Bears starting running back and University of Georgia transfer Michael Cooper was taken to the hospital with a neck injury. Cooper was named to the SEC All-Newcomer team his freshman year. Here's the quick update from the Springfield News-Leader's website...
Bears’ Cooper taken to hospital with apparent neck injury

Michael Cooper, the projected starter at tailback for the Missouri State football team, was taken off the field in an ambulance with an apparent neck injury suffered in the Bears' scrimmage this afternoon at Plaster Sports Complex.
Cooper, a 6-foot-1, 240-pound senior from Sylvania, Ga., who transferred to Missouri State from the University of Georgia last year and rushed for 151 yards on 49 carries, was injured after being tackled on a third-down run. He lay on the field for about 20 minutes before being transported to St. John's Hospital.
Bears coach Terry Allen led the team in a prayer and then climbed into the ambulance to be with Cooper.
