It will be a while. There are 102 brackets that were completed so when I have the chance, I am in the process of entering each person's picks into Excel and I'll come up with a system there to make scoring very easy, especially once the 8 game round two comes around. It's a long and tedious process to enter it all in, but it is worth it as after this weekend, scoring all the brackets should take just a few minutes.

I can post the scoring process though:

Each correct pick in a given round will be given the following points:
1st Round - 10
2nd Round - 15
Quarterfinals - 30
Semifinals - 50
Finals - 100

The scores will be used for deductions or bonuses from each total. If an exact score is guessed, there will be a ten point bonus added. There will be a tenth of a point deduction for each point a prediction for each separate team is off the actual score for that given team. This is not how many points your combined score was off the real combined score. For example, joe picked A over B 27-14. The final score was A winning 24-17. The combined scores were both 41, but joe was 3 off A's final score and 3 off B's final score. Therefore, .6 will be deducted from his points for that round. If B had won that game, joe simply would not have gotten points for that respective game.

First round scoring example:
A over B - 27-14
A beat B 24-17 10 points for the win minus .6 = 9.4
C over D - 31-10
C beat D 24-10 10 points for the win minus .7 = 9.3
E over F - 14-7
F beat E 17-14 no points awarded for loss
G over H - 24-21
G beat H 24-21 10 points for the win plus 10 for nailing the score = 20

9.4 + 9.3 + 0 + 20 = 38.7 for Round one.

Only 4 out of the 102 picked EIU to win. Coastal Carolina was correctly picked by 38 posters, Stony Brook by 49 posters, and Wagner by 30 posters. That means as a whole in the bracket challenge, posters picked only 52.7% of the games correctly this first round. No need to get worried about this week's rankings, the maximum score for the next two weeks triples what it was this week. There are still a lot of games to be played and a lot more points to be handed out. The complete standings are shown below:

EDIT now i get it. Those were some brain twisting examples. Now begs the question if i guess 63-49 and its 3-0 do i get -.9?

In that case, I'd get 15 points for that pick.... right? Of course, the score differential matters, but not the identity of the teams playing (aside from the winner)....

Correct. You want the winners to still be alive. Even though you have Colgate losing, it doesn't affect your point potential for that given game.
