View Full Version : I-AA Message Board Exchange

In order to get some I-AA awareness around the world of I-AA, I think we as members of AGS should make some efforts to get the word out there. This is as good a time as any with the season approaching really quickly here and everyone turning their mind to football.

I'm proposing a 'message board exchange' where you as a member of your university's message board (whether it KatFans.com, eGriz.com, etc) become a member of another I-AA institution's message board. It'd be preferred that the board you join should not be representative of someone on your school's schedule as of late nor a member of your conference.

I am sure we can tinker with things some here, but I think it would definitely make a difference in the awareness of schools about AGS and educate fans at one school about other schools in the I-AA community, especially where there's not as strong an AGS presence.

Anyone see where I am going with this? This a ridiculous idea or am I on to something? If there's something "here", how do we get this to work? Let me know!

I understand what you are asking Texas Terror. I have been to the Kats message board in the past, but as you said I think our 2 schools know each other well. Any fans from other schools looking for a Griz fan to join your board? Let me know.

Yeah. TT, I got your message, too. I was just gonna wait until I sobered up tomorrow to respond. I'm planning on seeing Portland State vs New Mexico the first week of the season (doesn't work, same conference), but SELA plays NMSU on 31 August! :) :)

I'd like to volunteer for SELA, since I have this great chance to meet some fans in Las Cruces, I hope.

Even if not, I can provide some pics. :)

Fan Zone at I-AA.org has a good list of the most recent and active I-AA messageboards (no BS):

I am a contributing member at all who will let me.

I've had a link to AGS on my UMass blog since about day one. Sitemeter says that I get a fair amount of outclicks to AGS. :)

Glad some folks are mixing it up...

I think I'm going to reach out to GoHens.net because we here in the SLC have little to no contact with those schools in the A10/CAA. I had some interaction over there as it relates to Drexel basketball (SHSU played them in the Preseason NIT last year) at CAAZone, but would like to talk football with those folks at U-Dub!

Hope some people come on over to http://www.katfans.com, the SHSU site. I know we've had some Grizzlies in the past from Montaha, but would like some new folks from other institutions that we may have little to no contact with...

Thanks to our CCU friends for the correction. Come on ATrain, that's your home board you were messing up.

As for the premise of the thread, its not a bad idea at all.

I read several boards on a regular basis in addition to AGS and eGriz but rarely post to them. My old favorite is the McCowboys's site and I like SHSU's board as well as NDSU's, CP's and GSU's. A few, like bobcatcounty.com, I won't admit to reading.

I bookmarked most of these sites but I use Ralph's Fan Zone page more often than my bookmarks.

There used to be a pretty good I-AA board on AOL back in the mid '90's but it has long since departed. Many of those guys still post on AGS. My favorite of all time was the escribe site which I guess was a predecessor of AGS.

Anyway I always find it interesting what other boards say about the Griz and I-AA in general. If you are not browsing these sites IMO you are missing out.

The site linked below has links to football message boards for I-A and I-AA. The guy who runs it occasionally posts on here as well as I recall:

Some of those links seem obsolete. For anyone interested in Saluki athoetics go to Salukitalk (http://salukitalk.net/st/index.php)
From the front page, there is a links list at the top of the page that will give you hookups to all MVC and Gateway boards.

obviously being the new guys on the block anyone and everyone is invited over to http://www.UCAFans.com to inform us of all that is our new surroundings on the 1-AA level of football. We're friendly types, most of the time;)

A lot of message board operators missed a chance to promote themselves by not putting an ad in the this years 2006 preview.. There are a lot of people who read the mag who never set foot on this board or others. Most just order from I-AA.org or through other means..
You should also considering advertising your sites in your teams game programs.. thats cheap as well.

Hey Elk,

How's the ice fishing?? ;)

I do somewhat miss the old I-AA Board. I guess you say that it like a bulletin board generation before the AGS Board. There were a lot of good I-AA fans on that board.

First TT thank for your effort but your bearkat message board is easily the worst site I have ever had to deal with. I have now made 5 attempts to register so I could give you thanx for your post on gohens.net. But the site keeps repeating their need for info. (which I have provided) or giving me a Confirmation Code which shows nothing more than a red X inside a tiny white box.

Let me know when the Bearkats want folds from elsewhere. I saw our William and Mary friend on there and wanted to to add my I-AA love but I have only so much time to waste.

Not sure why you had problems becoming a member of KatFans.com. That's unusual and I will pass it along to our moderators, so hopefully we can figure out what the deal is with the issues you have had...
