They will be 8-3 beating on the lower half of the Big Sky. Their best win will be North Dakota or Wyoming(2-7 Wins over Idaho and COst)

Assuming Eastern Washington and Montana State continue to win a loss against NAU will doom Cal Poly's playoff hopes

I think they're a bubbly team. All they have is that win over Wyoming. It might be enough, but it will be a tough Saturday night's sleep.

In unless csus gets to 8 d1 wins

Why is that? They would have 8 D1 wins, one of them being FBS which always helps, and they are from the Big Sky. Typically, a 7 D1 win Big Sky school has gotten in. With so many potential 8 win teams, I don't see many, if any 7 win teams getting at larges, but definitely not over an 8 win Big Sky team like Cal Poly.

You have to think of this in this way: Does the Big Sky deserve to have a 4th at-large over a 3rd from the MVFC? CAA? That's where the call gets tougher.

...course, if that happens, MSU hasn't continued to win. The only way CSUS gets to 8 wins is to win their last two games, one of which being the Bobcats. However, they are up on MSU in the 3rd.

That being said, I do agree, if Sac gets to 8 D1 wins, and MSU, EWU, and NAU all get 8 wins, Cal Poly is out.

This is the line of thinking that makes me think they are a Bubble team at 8-3. Also, lets not forget about Sam Houston's (8-3) (7-1 in FCS play) or a second team from the OVC. I don't think the committee wants to stack the at large spots with nothing but power conferences.

If the top teams in the Big Sky actually played each other it'd get figured out. Leave them out. Signature win against UND?

They'll beat NAU and be in for sure at 9-2. Even at 8-3, I doubt a team with 8 DI wins including one over an FBS team (no matter how bad) misses a 20 team playoff field.

Bubble team. I think they go 1-1 to finish the season and pray for an at Large bid

No, they are a lock at 8-3, especially over an OVC, and I think even over a Sam. Sam gave the Southland some respect last year, but it's still not as tough a schedule to go through as the Big Sky. The committee's job isn't to find conference balance, it's to select the best at-large teams.

I think ISU got shafted out of a playoff spot a decade or so ago with 7 DI wins and 8-3 overall but other than that I don't think this has happened to another BSC team. And that was when it was 16 team playoff and the BSC only had 8 schools.

One issue that has been brought up a while ago could come into play. If they lose to NAU, they will likely be 8-3, but will also be 1-3 in their last 4. Have to be concerned that limping to the finish line would be a concern.

I have them in but I think they'll beat NAU. If they lose to NAU I think EKU or EIU may steal their spot.

If EIU beats UCA to go with a win over Southern Ill and a 3 point loss on the road at Ill St, at 8-3 I think they are in

I believe at 8-3 they are a lock as well.

I hope you guys are right, that we get in with 8-3, but I am nervous about this....I really think we need to close out 2-0 since I think there is something to be said for finishing strong. The game against NAU, especially at Flagstaff, will be rough; and telling at how we regroup from an awful performance in Cheney.

Probably the best news for Poly is that Sac State lost a squeaker to Montana State late yesterday. I can't emphasize how important it is that they're a 4th place team that could be 8-3 instead of a 5th-place team that is 8-3.

If Cal Poly beats Idaho State, they can't have more than 2 conference losses, while Sac State will have 3. IMO, as long as they win next weekend, I think they're a good bet for the field.

Good points on EIU and EKU. The OVC is up and these two are playing better OOC schedules. Might be a toss up in this scenario.

Somebody got the point I see that puts them on the bubble at 9-3. The committee seems to less kindly on teams sliding in to the playoffs like this...doesn't mean they aren't in as the FBS win gives some mitigation against this but it's gonna be iffy.

Anybody downplaying the OVC this year is making a mistake I think in what the committee will do as far as an at large for them. The OVC has taken big steps forward in getting near, not quite at, the level of the power conferences which makes an extra team from a power conference have to look over their shoulder a little bit.
