I'm guessing yes. My real hope is that Mike shows up for the whole game. With Ruley and Vuono back, we s/b able to run on Cross.

Too bad Haggins still out at TE. He's had a vexed senior year and can be such an impact player when in the lineup. With the forecast wind conditions, the run game will be vitally important.

You can watch the game on Holy Cross's website through the 'all-access' portal for only $8.95. I registered last night. Was hoping to make the trip, but too much work in the aftermath of 'Sandy' to justify taking a full day away from the homestead. "The Second in Command" will be fine with my being 'incommunicado' for 3 1/2 hours on Saturday afternoon, as opposed to being AWOL from 6:30 a.m. until about 8 p.m....(;-)

I'll be there for HC's last home game of the year. Think it will very much be a back and forth game, but Lehigh's defense is too much for an emerging HC offense.

Putting up lot of family from Rockaway but I will pick up some peppermint schnapps. Lord, Chuck you like sweet drinks but as long as we win I'll risk diabetes. Have reserved the desktop for game. Everyone knows not to worry when they hear me cussin at the screen. My nieces have been warned not to sit in my lap during football. Just because I once bounced my daughter at 7 onto the floor. Women they just never forget stuff.

Great. Got power back at 6 pm Fri, but cable still out. Using my 4G unit for internet connection. Hopefully signal strong enough to see game online. Also, I too saw the game listed in the TV line-up. I really doubt if that is accurate as the LU site says no TV coverage. Hope they are wrong!

That is an error! I called WFMZ and no one at the station could confirm the game. Indeed one person followed up and said a 'paid programming' infomercial was scheduled and the website does NOT have the game listed. This a a Morning Call mistake (and a lot were made in today's edition. The editing at the paper is getting downright horrible.). Only way to see the game is to go to wwwGoHolyCross.com and sign up for the streaming. Costs only $8.95.

I think that early one-play drive might have worked against LU to some degree. The defense got worn down and the offense never really got going. There are signs that the LU offense is shaking off the rust, though. IMO. They get the ball first in the second half, which could be huge.

Hey Owl, I usually think your commentary is pretty accurate. But....LU's running game is non existent. Has been all year. O-Line really struggles to get anyone other than Colvin more than 3 yards a clip. I believe this is the reason the O is so inconsistent. They need to prove me wrong with a balanced 2nd half. Watching Colgate/Lafayette. Red Raiders are very scary!!!

Well, then Barket shoul be riding the pine. With Sherman, and the younger kid Sodeke (I think) LU would stand a much better chance of getting their running game going. It would really help to open up the passing game.

I was extremely impressed with Colvin that final drive. Most everyone questioned his ability to put together a drive passing the ball when it was needed. He answered the bell! The loss of Dave K has hurt the defense. I'm not sure if the co-DC's will be a good idea after this year.

I watched this on the internet and listened to the Lehigh broadcast. Can't imagine how the fans in the stands felt as I was drained,..as was my Yuenglings! Having Spadola back was huge. I don't recall the announcers talking about it, but it seemed to me that Chagani was out for most if not all of the second half, which really impacted the effectiveness of our DL. He really eats up the middle and his backup is about 30 lbs lighter. We really need him in there against Colgate. They did expect Haggins to return to the line up next week as well as Laughery who was missing at LB.

We certainly missed Loughery in this one. Same with the second half against the Hoyas. He can not return soon enough. Did not know that Chagani was missing for the second half, as I was listening to the HC audio. He usually ties up a couple O-lineman and has a significant effect on D. Hopefully with power restored, everyone can rest up and get healthy for next week. We'll have our hands full with McCarney and the 'gate O.

Holy Cross and Lehigh aren't that different .. both are pretty good teams. The difference between 9-0 and 1-8 is that one team believes they will win in the 4th quarter, and the other team hopes they don't blow it. Confidence is an amazingly powerful thing, and each time Lehigh wins like this it will make them a tougher out in the postseason, and each time HC losses like this it sends them deeper into the death spiral. HC could be up 24-3 going into the 4th next week, and do you think those kids will believe they will win?

If HC won a couple of early season close games and Lehigh dropped a couple of them, the records could be reversed.

There is parity in the PL just like every other league in the country - there is nothing special about the PL in regards to parity. The OVC, CAA, Sourthern and all the FBC conferences they all have it....its not different than any other conference in the country or any other year for that matter. Its college football and anyone can beat anyone, so just b/c LU pulls out W's by the skin of their teeth sometimes lets not pull the "parity" card in the league to bring down their success - THEY WIN......they have won 18 straight league games, 18 STRAIGHT! Hows that for parity?!!

No league has as much uncertainty/parity going into the week every week than the PL this year...Lehigh has won, and hats off to them, but they aren't that much better than the other schools of the PL.

Outside of the egg the Saders laid in Easton, they have been very competitve with every team in the PL, Colgate included.

Lehigh has a nice team this year but they aren't at the level (week-in, week-out) of a UNH or Harvard...truth be told they were probably the fourth best team we've played this year after UNH. Harvard and Colgate in that order.

I agree - If you're juding on style points Lehigh leaves much to be desired when compared with a Harvard, UNH or Colgate. But bringing it - Week-in and week-out?? Harvard lost to princeton (a team LU beat) and Colgate lost to South Dakota (a team who is 1-8, obviously with their only win coming against colgate). A team that brings it each week is a team that WINS week-in and week-out. I believe lehigh is the only team that can make that claim in 2012 in all of the FCS.....it may not be pretty, it may not be dominant but Lehigh wins! If the PL is even in talent - what sets lehigh apart to allow them to win 18 straight in the PL?

Holy Cross's two WRs are very good--all league material and their TE is a beast at 6'7". However, we didn't have much pressure on the QB. Opening play sack was it. Their QB's were on effective, but the WR's made at least 4 catches that were highlight material. I saw the problem more with not shutting down their run game.

I would point out that we missed a very makeable field goal and gave HC a very short field on the KO return fumble that put our tired D right back on the field with backs against the wall. Huge turnaround of momentum, both mentally and physically. What is great is the way this team came back down 12 points well into the fourth quarter. Colvin, who many have doubted this year, showed that he can lead the team in a come from behind fashion when the pressure is on and the chips are down.

College football is great because we never know how these young guys are going to ready from week to week. Look at the Notre Dame/Pitt game today. AFter last week, everyone expected a blowout at Notre Dame Stadium. Instead, the Panthers took it to the Irish and the ND was lucky to escape with a 3 OT win. HC's record could easily be much better this year, but the 1-7 going in is magnified by everyone. Look at South Dakota. Virtually the same record, but when you look closely, they have been very close to some very good teams. A very fine line some years between great records and lousy records.
