MSU (1-3 1-6) @ ISU-r* (3-1 6-1) Shouldn't be that close

SIU (3-1 4-3) @ YSU* (1-2 4-2) Wow a few weeks ago I wouldn't have hesitated picking this one.... I have no clue who will win...

SDSU (3-0 5-1) @ UNI (0-3 0-5) Gotta go with the jacks, UNI is a good team and will get a win somewhere, but if the jacks get a little passing game going Zenner will be able to go friggin nuts.

NDSU* (2-1 5-1) @ USD (0-3 1-5) Neutral site game and USD just isn't that good.

ISU-b (3-1 5-2) @ WIU (1-2 3-3) Trees get an/some offensive touchdown(s) this week.

MSU (1-3 1-6) @ ISU-r* (3-1 6-1) - Redbirds get back on track

SIU (3-1 4-3) @ YSU* (1-2 4-2) - Penguins waddle back against the royal dogs

SDSU (3-0 5-1) @ UNI (0-3 0-5) - Jacks pick up first signature road win in the UNI-Dome

NDSU* (2-1 5-1) @ USD (0-3 1-5) - No contest

ISU-b (3-1 5-2) @ WIU (1-2 3-3) - If a tree falls in a forest on a bear does anyone here it?

Brutal 2-3 week last week for me. Dropped me to 29-8 on the year.

Missouri St @ Illinois St - Illinois St got their season back with a big win last week. They keep it rolling.
Southern Illinois @ Youngstown St - Tough two game road trip the last couple weeks for the Penguins. It'll be interesting to see the SIU D matchup against the YSU O. I like the Guins at home.
South Dakota St @ Northern Iowa - The Panthers have let me down twice already this year when I've picked them but both of those were on the road. I think they have too much pride than to continue the losing streak on homecoming.
North Dakota St @ South Dakota - An angry Bison team + pseudo NDSU home game + bad USD team = Bison blowout.
Indiana St @ Western Illinois - Can the Trees avoid the same hangover that they took advantage of last week. I think they can but it wouldn't surprise me to see a tight game here.

26 has the right choices. IMHO after reading over at PantherNation is that the UNI defense is really limping along this season. The TOP for UNI s*cks big time, so look for the Jacks to have a field day against a tired D unit.

I had a rough week last week (wrong on NDSU, YSU, & UNI) but I'm back for more...

MSU (1-3 1-6) @ ISU-r* (3-1 6-1) - Redbirds got back on track last week and the Bears finally got a W, so both teams are feeling good heading into this one. Illinois St. by 10-14 pts.

SIU (3-1 4-3) @ YSU* (1-2 4-2) - SIU may be the hottest team in the MVFC right now, but nobody needs a win more than the Guins. Youngstown by 3-7 pts.

SDSU (3-0 5-1) @ UNI (0-3 0-5) - Ok, maybe the Panthers need a win more than YSU. SDSU hasn't had any luck in the UNIDome, either. Northern Iowa by 1-4 pts.

NDSU* (2-1 5-1) @ USD (0-3 1-5) - The Bison will be playing a home game in Sioux Falls, SD this weekend. Expect a statement after last week's upset loss. NDSU by 24-28 pts.

ISU-b (3-1 5-2) @ WIU (1-2 3-3) - Upset alert! The Sycamores are still patting themselves on the back after last week. Perfect spot of the Necks to surprise them. WIU by 1-4 pts.

Went 4-1 in a topsy-turvey MVFC week, so that puts me at 38-9 for the season. Alright, onto week #8:

Winners:

Birds Think ISU is due for a steamroll game.
Guins YSU is in the same spot the Redbirds were in last week: a MUST win game
Jacks If SDSU wants to grab the MVFC auto, then they absolutely NEED this roadie over UNI
Bison Mismatch and the Bison should be ready to stampede after last weeks debacle
Trees Think the Necks give IN St. a game, but Mr. Bell runs for a Trees victory

WOW! Is it just me, or is just about every weekend in the #1 ranked MVFC absolutely a crazy battle? LOVIN' IT xbowx

5dimes released their lines yesterday, but there hasn't been any movement yet. Here they are:

Missouri St. @ Illinois St. -17
So. Illinois @ Youngstown St. -7
South Dakota St. @ Northern Iowa -6
North Dakota St. -24 @ South Dakota
Indiana St. -14 @ Western Illinois

The penguins are underachieving right now. They got a big lead in the last game and blew it. I was shocked to hear the players in the press conference say that they were looking at the score board when they were up a few TD's thinking they had the game in hand. They should have learned that lesson last year when they lost to Missouri State after blowing a 17 point halftime lead.

We are 1-5 and probably have our worst team in a decade. We are in real danger of only our 3rd losing season since 1985. I would hardly call this a signature win for SDSU.

For the sake of the conference, UNI should just lie down for SDSU. ;)

MSU (1-3 1-6) @ ISU-r (3-1 6-1) Not much of a contest here

SIU (3-1 4-3) @ YSU (1-2 4-2) YSU will bounce back after two straight weeks of losses in a tough battle.

SDSU (3-0 5-1) @ UNI (0-3 0-5) UNI is better than people are giving them credit for. SDSU hits a bump in their schedule which now starts to get tougher.

NDSU (2-1 5-1) @ USD (0-3 1-5) NDSU comes out after a dismal effort last week to show they are still the top of the MVFC in football.

ISU-b (3-1 5-2) @ WIU (1-2 3-3) In a close game with two bad offenses ISU's defense will win this game for them.

ISUr over MSU--closer than you think but Red is at home--whoops, they were at home versus SIU too!

SIU over YSU--Ok, this is my homer pick. YSU is at home and should win BUT are probably squabbling among themselves after blowing one at ISUr

UNI over SDSU--if the Bunnies DO win this one (at UNI) it will show me something.

NDSU over USD---even on a neutral site Bison rebound.

WIU over ISU b--sorry Sycs but away Valley games are hard, even for elite teams

ISUb sure showed us last week they can win on the road in the valley....

You may be right---but didn't they score twice on picks on you guys? Don't think that will happen again. Of course we've had two blocked punts for scores so anything is possible.

I called it a signature road win:D We have struggled mightily in the UNIDome since joining the Valley. A win would maybe get us over that jinx.

Agree with this.

** Indiana State's offense was very mediocre at best. Less than 200 yards and 3 points against the Bison defense. Wouldn't surprise me if WIU wins this.
