Ready for some football? CCU hits the field today, among the first schools in the nation to get on the practice field and begin work for this coming football season. Only a few more weeks away from the tailgates and all the gridiron action! :hurray:

Trenches await, but rigorous running tests come first

The anxiety is about to end.
In an odd, knock-someone-in-the-mouth sort of way.
Coastal Carolina has spent the past four months - the amount of time between its spring game and today's official start of fall camp - mulling its huge returning senior class, the way last season ended and what most have described as an intense summer workout routine.
But today, all the thoughts and actions gain some focus.
"Everybody's anxious to get out there and hit somebody," senior Adrain Grady said.
Like most college teams, CCU won't jump right into the trenches full blast. The Chanticleers will practice today and Wednesday in helmets and Thursday and Friday in helmets and shoulder pads before donning full gear Saturday.
