@coover, even though we all know that NDSU is #37, you may want to fix your list before some NDSU fan jumps on you about it. They are kind of sensitive about NDSU-UND mixups...

I was wondering how UND got to #1 after a loss to EWU?

NDSU finished last year at 37. I know when we won the NC we were 30. It's impressive to be that far up this early though

I've seen FCS in the top 30 a loooong time ago. Ivy League never gets all that well-connected despite Sagarin's claim. It's more like this is as well-connected as the Ivies are gonna get and wackiness ensues.

Past two NC's 1 and 2. I like it. That would be an EPIC title game.

Yep, because ranking decides the games. Bi-son would fumble it away again. xcoffeex

How much of a jump in the suicide rate in Fargo if EWU won in OT on an NDSU fumble? xlolx

No Lehigh.

Their record merits a ranking, but they've played no one, while squeaking by all of them. I have not been high on Lehigh at all.

Nor have I. They're somewhere in the 15-20 range, in my opinion.

A schedule is a schedule. Can't change it now. Lehigh still has a lot of potential if they can get consistent, Injuries on offensive line have not helped. They are finding ways to win, despite their problems. And there are other teams that really haven't played anyone, but are not 6-0. That's how most teams go undefeated - by winning the close ones. Stick around, you may be surprised.

considering you would likely be 3 touchdown underdogs, I don't think we should be concerned.

Unless Lehigh gets a patsy in the first round of the playoffs, they will be one and done. And by patsy, I mean any team not in the Big Sky, MVFC, CAA, Socon, or Southland.

Still can't figure out the Harvard rating.

Same thing happened last year, but not in the years before that. With the small sample of OOC games, it's easier for the Ivies to be skewed in one direction or the other.

I like this. It looks pretty similar to my AGS vote actually. Thank God, Delaware finally dropped off the Sagarin. Only real surprise for me is Richmond. I'll have to take a look at the Spiders.

And that, Darell, is the Big Sky.

By the way, have you noticed how all the former Great West Schools are doing ... North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Southern Utah, Cal Poly, UC Davis. It was a pretty good league while it lasted!

Just to clarify... You like having Montana at 11? The same Montana that is 1-2 in conference? Seems to be an instance of the past influencing the present.

A 10 point win over Monmouth, 3 point win over Princeton, 3 point win over Fordham, and a 2 point win over Liberty don't exactly inspire a lot of confidence. When two 35-14 wins over CCSU and Columbia are your best wins, you've got issues.

Also, all 6 opponents are a combined 10-18 against D-I competition, mostly from relatively weak conferences.

Seems to be an instance of the past influencing the present. It's not that I agree that Montana should be #11, but the truth is that the past (that is, games last year and before) and pre-season ratings are not considered by Sagarins computer. With the teams "Well connected", the only games that count for the calculation are the games played this year. You may disagree with the way Sagarins calculates, but you cannot disagree that the results are based on opinion or reputation. They are not!

No, I fully understand that Sagarins ratings are not based on previous years' results. But my point is that Montana shouldn't be ranked #11. For some person (not a computer algorithm) to think they SHOULD be #11 would clearly not be based on what they've demonstrated this year and thus would presumably be influenced by their historical performance.
