You would think losing to the new D1 school would put the final nail in the coffin for Allen...

Gawd, I hope so

I just hope you all beat the living you-know-what out of USD next week. The arrogance (edit: IGNORANCE fits better here) displayed by their fan(s) earlier today makes me hope they go winless the rest of the year. You have to earn respect in the Valley (like I think SDSU has done, and I know NDSU has done) - you can't just walk into this conference and feel Wins are going to come easy. MSU doesn't have a bad team. You have atleast one extra fan next weekend. Go Bears!

I still remember when we came into the Valley, our fans and I think our players and possibly even coach Bohl came in with this attitude of "We're the Bison, bow down to us!" Then we got raped....hard. Then we woke up and smelled the roses and started playing hard-nosed football.

I don't think attitude really had too much to do with it. Those teams simply were not as talented as 06-07 or 11-12. Or even the '10 team which barely had a QB. NDSU beat a BCS team with 95 yards passing that year lmao, we also won an away playoff game with 36 yards passing.

Hoping to bounce back after going 2-2 last week...

YSU* (1-1 4-1) @ ISU-r* (2-1 5-1) - Both teams are coming off of tough losses, so we'll get max effort & focus from both sides. Penguins sneak it out by 3-7 pts.

USD (0-2 1-4) @ MSU (0-3 0-6) - MSU has been knocking on the door for 3 straight weeks. I think they finally get that allusive first win. Bears by 1-4 pts.

UNI (0-2 0-4) @ SIU (2-1 3-3) - UNI comes in rested from the week off, and SIU is riding high after the upset win. Panthers by 7-10 pts.

ISU-b (2-1 3-2) @ NDSU* (2-0 5-0) - I think NDSU will come out flat this week, but Bell is going to have to be a monster to keep it close. Bison by 14-17 pts.

WIU (1-1 2-2) @ SDSU (2-0 4-1) - SDSU fresh off the bye and WIU rolls in after a big road win. This will be a low scoring affair. Jacks by 7-10 pts.

YSU @ ISU - Both teams coming off stinging defeats. ISU in a shootout

USD @ MSU - Yotes continue the seasoning/character building process

UNI @ SIU - Homecoming for the Dawgs, UNI loses again in C'dale.

ISU @ NDSU - Long day and no help on offense for Bell.

WIU @ SDSU - taking the home team.

I agree with this. Look at those losses....very close. No QB was huge in those years.

The success of the Bison during the transition set us up for that mind set.
Many didnt realize that it was a different level of play and you need a different level-talent of players. They corrected that in short time thank goodness.

27-5 in my MVFC pick'ems so far this year (missed week 2)

Youngstown St @ Illinois St - For some reason my gut is telling me that the Redbirds will bounce back and win this game at home. My head's not buying it though.
South Dakota @ Missouri St - The Bears finally get off the schneid.
Northern Iowa @ Southern Illinois - I harbor no fondness for UNI but even I'm a bit frustrated by the lack of respect their early season scheduling gauntlet has gotten them. I think they take their frustration out of the Salukis.
Indiana St @ North Dakota St - I can't see the Trees hanging in this one without a passing game against the #1 defense in the country. Bison 34, Sycs 10.
Western Illinois @ South Dakota St - Two straight trips to SD for the Necks? Who did they piss off to deserve that? Anyway, this one doesn't go as well as last week's road trip.

Just want to say I think "Jacked Rabbit" is an awesome board name, and ask a question. What was the result of the play when SDSU played Nebraska, and your two linemen pancaked the Husker's linebacker and safety (per the pic in your posts)? Feel free to embellish to make the story more incredible.

Thanks man - I've got love for Bison Thunder as well. haha

As for the play, I honestly can't recall what the result was. I've had a few too many beers since then, so my memory is a little foggy. Maybe another Rabbit fan can help me out. I do know that we didn't have much trouble running on the "Black Shirts" that day (that nickname should be banned by now, btw), so I'd like to think this was a 10+ yard scamper by our bruising tailback Kyle Minett.

I went back and read the game summary from the AP - http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=302680158 . There are some great quotes in here from Polini and the Husker players - just wish we wouldn't have had an INT called back and a TD run not called a TD when Minett clearly broke the plane of the goal line. Ah well, we get another crack at them next year. I have a feeling they are going to take us a little more seriously this time around...

And the lines continue to shift... Here is the latest:

YSU -2.5 @ ISU-R
USD @ MSU -4 *MSU opened as a 2 point dog
UNI -10.5 @ SIU *UNI opened as a 6 point favorite
ISU-B @ NDSU -29.5 *NDSU opened as a 24.5 point favorite
WIU @ SDSU -16

Some pretty drastic line shifts this week! We've got some great matchups this week, so it'll be interesting to see how things play out.

The most interesting games in the valley will be UNI and YSU, since both are playing for the first time since each of their blowout losses to NDSU. Will they be fired up or come out flat? How will UNI react knowing they are all but officially out of the playoffs?

Not so hot last week at 2-2, but onto yet another MVFC showdown weekend:

Winners:

Birds I know EVERY last poster here has picked a YSU team that got absolutely trounced last weekend, but ISU's QB Matt Brown had the worst performance of his 4 years last weekend, and not only did ISU NOT have their #1 RB available for SIU, but their #2 RB went out just a few plays into the game. Think ISU knows this is a MUST win game if they hope to have playoff run. It'll be a toss-up game, but think The Birds were flat-out embarrased last week, and now (at home) they will be playing like their backs are against the wall. Should be a dandy.

Bears MSU gets off the snide.

Salukis SIU officially ends the Panthers playoff aspirations.

Bison

Jacks

Soooo....going against the grain in the SIU>UNI and ISU>YSU games. Should be another crazy weekend in MVFC land.....LOVE IT xrotatehx
