Wow, this is shocking....

Yup, it is. Bryant is 0-5 having been blown out in two of their games (Maine 51-7, Marist 35-10).

Albany has 3 turnovers and 3 missed FGs and flat out looks horrible.

14-14 now, but this is ugly.

Shouldnt matter. Albany is way better than Bryant. You have to play at the highest level every week no matter who the opponent.

Danes finally woke up. I could see this being a pretty tough game to get up for.

Can't blame anyone for not ranking us this week though. Didn't perform like it for the first 3 quarters.

Coach Ford just texted me saying he read Bjtheflames comments about overcoming adversity and wanted to prove him wrong. ;)

IMO Albany is still a very good team - a top-25 team.

Bryant came out fired up in a league game and made some good plays - let's give them credit for that. They forced some UA mistakes and took advantage of them.

Albany came out flat, but stayed calm and executed much better in the 2nd half. A credit to their players and of course Coach Ford.

I expect the Danes to win the NEC, but sometimes I think fans get way too excited about "name" wins or "bad" opponents. Albany is a good team in a good league - it's still hard work to win in the NEC.

I know you guys can't wait for the CAA, but getting through the league gauntlet isn NEVER easy. Stay the course and don't overlook anyone, on any week.

Funny...we contained the RB real well in the first...and doubled them up in yds and time in the first half...but weren't up. Bryant played SUPERBLY to shut down Albany on a couple of big 3rd down plays. Credit to them.

Played disinterested the whole game....and then woke up with 2min to go in the third...and are now blowing the doors off Bryant with Drew Smith...and nice short passing.

Moving the ball really well offensively now.

Wow...you know what...we didn't play our best but...if you look at the box the story says differently. TOTAL DOMINATION.

Total yds- 428 to 202
First downs- 25 to 11
Third downs 11-18 to 4-15
Fourth downs 2-2 to 0-2

All in Albany's favor. The only area things changed the game were TO's...but that was a wash in the end as UA had 3 to Bryant's 1...but each had a TO leading to a score.

Reflecting...I think Dane fans were too hard on ourselves...and Bryant punched a bit higher than their weight. Taking away the TO's for scores...it's a 24-7 win at a stadium that had probably 500 people there (WHICH IS NO EXCUSE).

To me the most important stat- we shut down the NEC's top rusher and held him to 14 carries for 33 yards, and we shut down one of the best receivers who had 5 catches for 55 yards.

Good teams find ways to grind things out when they are not at their best. If they play like this next week...then I would start to question them. For me...they are the same team as I ranked last week.

Does this mean that Maine is 27 points better than Albany?;)

1,219 :)

I was there, and left around halfway through the third, but Albany looked bad for 2 1/2 quarters. I am watching the rest of the game on the DVR now, and they look a lot better in the 4th than they did for 2 1/2 quarters in person. Bryant's offense was bad all game, but the defense held its own. Of course, 9 points were left off the scoreboard because of your K;er.

xcoffeex

To be precise, Jordan Brown is not the NEC's top rusher. He's not the 2nd ranked rusher in the NEC... Nor the 3rd ranked rusher in the NEC... Nor the 4th ranked rusher in the NEC. In fact, according to the NCAA, he's the 5th leading rusher in the NEC coming into today's games.

RUSHING

Year: 2012 Thru: 09/29/12 Minimum: Pct. of games played 75

Rank Player Pos Cl Gm Carries Yds Tds Avg YdsGm Natl Rank

1 Larry McCoy, Duquesne RB SR 5 129 620 9 4.81 124.00 11
2 Drew Smith, Albany (NY) RB SR 5 82 501 8 6.11 100.20 27
3 Keion Wade, St. Francis (PA) RB SR 5 80 465 7 5.81 93.00 38
4 Dominique Williams, Wagner RB JR 5 90 462 3 5.13 92.40 39
5 Jordan Brown, Bryant RB SR 5 115 455 3 3.96 91.00 40

However, major props to the Great Danes for their poise and a fine come-from-behind victory! Top teams respond to adversity. Albany did that today.

He is considered the best RB in the NEC.

Maybe I should have been clearer.

To be absolutely clear...

In the preseason, he was considered the best RB in the NEC.

At this point in the 2012 season... not so much.

Hey, I understand and agree that Mr. Brown is a great running back. Unfortunately, he's not getting the support he needs in order to have a truly outstanding season. (He only rushed for 43 yards on 22 carries against Marist, for goodness sake!)
