It is an absolutely gorgeous day in Spartanburg. Perfect football weather-cool and sunny, not a cloud in sight! I will post game updates here as they happen in this key SoCon matchup for my Terriers (and the Purple Pukes too).

Touchdown Dins. 7-0.

Paladins moving the ball relatively easy here in the first quarter. Wofford would do well to stop Jerodis Williams. When he gets going he is tough to stop.

TD Furman 7-0. Wofford must respond quickly

Wofford coughs up the ball in Furman territory.

Paladins coming with the same game plan as last year it looks like. Keep the ball out of Wofford's hands, control the clock, and try to get a two score lead.

Wofford loses fumble after nice drive. I may just forget this soon and head out to Platinum Plus for some fun

As someone said, you should leave with us no matter what with the way we play fourth quarters. Looks like we started early 7 all

TD Terriers 7-7 tie. Furman forced Wofford away from EB, but Terriers still moving ball well now... just can't afford turnovers

Pretty apparent Wofford doesn't have anyone that is going to be able to deal with Colin Anderson. Perhaps Furman needs to take the training wheels off Hannon and just let those two play pitch and catch for a while.

Is there still a 5 yard face mask penalty?

This is the first physical defense Wofford has seen. I'm hoping Furman can get a lead before Wofford starts punching back.

Don't worry . Wofford is too weak on pass D to punch back. This is a mid-tier SoCon team at best. And forget playoffs. We need to recruit better players

Interestingly, the radio crew keeps talking about all of the Wofford linemen and linebackers limping off the field. That is encouraging (not because I like seeing guys hurt), but it suggest Furman has re-found that Clay Hendrix era chop block scheme. Those zone schemes the last few years of Lamb were getting a bit tiresome to watch.

No one in the SoCon will believe what you are saying here.

When you donate money to a team and that team doesn't achieve, it's like throwing money away. Like buying a TV and then it has horrible picture and sound quality. But at least you can return the TV

OL FU

I ain't gonna argue with you, the less money Wofford's football team gets the better. But you guys have been extraordinarily good year in and year out.

OK I'm done. Do what you want

Next week you will see four yourself. I've watched Wofford play for over 20 years now, and I am not impressed with this bunch today. They've shown me that they are tremendously soft on D against a real team

Sorry I get very frustrated and intense during games. I should never post again during a game. Furman deserves a ton of credit.

Throw the baby out with the bath water are we? Worst half this season, although several games vs. Junior colleges. Hope for a better second half. I will never give up on my Terriers, and I have watched them in person since the 70's, never give up.....win or loose!

Wofford manages to eek out the win, but I am still honestly concerned. FU showed us we still have a ways to go. The next two weeks could be brutal if we don 't bring our A+ game.

shut up, Stephon Shelton, our other starting corner, was out today and we got 3 picks. We're not terrible.

So, overall, I think in the first half Furman showed you what it would take to beat Wofford, as it was almost a clone copy of last year.

With that said, the "recipe" is easier said than done because of the modern chemistry of college football offenses. To beat Wofford, you need to keep our offense off of the field, pass the ball efficiently, and have a damn good run game....Usually translating to a domination of the TOP. Furman had the weapons on both sides of the ball to do that. Credit to them, I actually underestimated their defense (I think I should stop doing that), and they had the ball twice as long as Wofford did in the first half.

With that said, I liked how our offense played in the second half, as we weren't stopped much, EB had about 145 yards in the second half (13 in the first), and it's almost as if Ayers realized at halftime that he was still on the team.

Our defense is kind of banged up, we were down a starting linebacker and corner going in and we may have lost a couple DL and another LB. I think a couple of them will be back next week.

overall, I'm not disappointed, there's not that many teams on our schedule with an offense like Furman, UTC being the only exception.

closer than I imagined, but Furman deserves credit for not reading the papers pre-game.
