The only comment I would make is that I don't foresee EKU moving to the 2nd round, they would most likely be in the play-in round.

If Stony Brook and Albany once again find themselves in the opening round, they will be slotted against each other. Last year's results don't matter to the committee. Same thing for Towson and Lehigh.

You think EKU will play its way into the round of 12 without another OVC school receiving a bid? Lehigh did it last year, but they only had one loss.

How teh fook is SHSU a #1 seed when they have 0 DI wins at the start of week 4?

At best they go 9-1, this is ofc assuming they beat Texas A and M.

I just don't see an 8 DI win team getting the #1 seed.

Has it ever happened? Has a team with 8 DI wins gotten the #1 overall seed in the history of the FCS playoffs?

SHSU will not get the #1 seed strictly based on their schedule (They will probably have at least 2 losses at the end)

Thats what I am saying. I don't see how its possible for SHSU to walk away with the #1 seed. Perhaps if they didn't schedule down a division and/or also beat one of the two FBS teams.

You gotta remember. The committee seems to have a higher opinion of the OVC than the general consensus of FCS fans. Eastern Kentucky got in last year when no one thought they would. Two years ago, two teams from the OVC received byes into the second round.

If Stony Brook and Albany once again find themselves in the opening round, they will be slotted against each other. Last year's results don't matter to the committee. Same thing for Towson and Lehigh. Not necessarily. Albany-Lehigh is only 8 miles farther and actually 15 minutes faster than Albany-Stony Brook. And either SBU or LU could end up with a bye anyway.

Or Stony Brook could play Lehigh and Albany travel to New Hampshire.

Already starting... Everyone holding their breath that SHSU trips up again.....

Kats run the table to Tx A&M game. If they upset Aggies, #1 seed could be on horizon. If not, no better than #2. Honestly I dont see Kats better than #2 at best.

Also, its only week four so sitting here a predicting playoff pairings is ridiculous. A ton of football left to play!! Strike this conversation up in Week 7 or 8.

I think they will end the season with 3 losses.Getting through conference 1 year without any bumps is great but getting through 2 is pushing it.

They would really have to slip up big time and have some major injuries to many players. Basically the same team that beat everyone in the conference by 21+ is back and improved with more depth. I'm sure some of the games will be closer this year but I feel it is Sams conference to lose. I'll be alot more confident after this weekends game in Conway. We should have the biggest SHSU crowd of the year against SFA in reliant, a game we should be able to handle. The McNeese game will be the only meaningful home game for Sam this year, they'll be ready to play. I predict a attendance record that game also. After that its pretty much coasting to A&M time besides taking care of the Demons.

No jinx intended but last year the Kats went thru the season avoiding the injury bug. A couple of bad bites from that critter and things go south in a hurry. Based on the final result of the BU game, I doubt seriously you will slip one over on A&M. SHSU is without a doubt the conference favorite but there are at least three teams in the league that could catch fire and end that 9-2 prediction in a hurry.

Wow, hard to see JMU running the CAA table AND getting all the things to fall in place such that neither YSU nor NDSU get the #1 seed.

JMU suffered some injuries, the worst was to Brown, arguably our best WR who is gone for the season with a torn ACL. Our lines are holding up well, but still not playing to the level deserving of a #1 seed. If we can get/stay healthy through the rest of the season, anything is possible, but I doubt it. 3-4 seed is most realistic for JMU. The team is confident, has senior leadership, but gets a bit overhyped as was seen in the first half against Alcorn St. and WVU.

I'll offer my shot at it here in a minute.

My proj has them running the table and both YSU and NDSU finishing with one loss. JMU's conference schedule definitely works in their favor with Delaware and New Hampshire absent from it and the games against Towson and ODU are both at home. I like their chances with that schedule.

Yeah that's what a lot of us JMU fans thought too, but we are all a bit worried after the first couple weeks. We still all feel confident about making the playoffs, just running the table seems like a stretch right now. I hope you're right though. I really don't think the CAA is as good as it was a few years ago.

Yes, it is bold, no question about it. I have liked them from the beginning of the season. They beat an average SIU team. They lost in OT, but against a very good Ill St. team that I expect to see in the playoffs. EKU and Jacksonville St. will give them a run for their money, but I think EIU turned a corner this year. Maybe I am one year away, but it's fun to speculate especially so early. To pick all the favorites is... well, boring. xpeacex

When they coast into a brick wall, you just make sure you show your *** up here the next morning so we can read your excuses. It will happen.Being confident about your team is one thing but you newbies that come on here and are all arrogant ALWAYS get their day.Like I said, you are going to fall hard from that cloud. It will be one of those teams like Lamar or Southeastern that will end up stomping a mudhole in your ***.History has proven that time and time again.I am sure there are quite a few on this board that have stories of the game their team was supposed to COAST through but instead got wh00ped.

Really the only good thing that could come out of a victory over State is that we get another D-I win that counts toward playoff eligibility. I would rather win out in the SoCon and lose to State, than beat State and drop a SoCon game. I just worry about our kids. Half of our big barn of running backs have suffered some kind of injury in the past.

I know what you mean about the focus, though. They went into KBS like they owned the place. They knew they were going to win. I haven't seen that kind of confidence since 1992.

Everyone always forgets this, including me. We do have some depth at certain positions, but a couple of untimely defensive injuries could open us up wide(r), just in time for the SOCON stretch. And knowing the Cid mentality, they would keep pushing regardless of the injury danger.

I don't waste my time doing playoff predictions in week 4. Posting my own isn't a prerequisite to picking apart yours. You posted them, take the criticism or don't post them.

Your point was that Albany would get beat at Duquesne because of the road trip (e.g. home field advantage).

Just based on the big Maine win, Monmouth is a dangerous game. Monmouth has some talented players. Having that game at home helps to offset that concern.

After all Monmouth did only lose to Lehigh by 10.xrolleyesxxcoffeex
