What great players in your team's history started their careers as walk-ons? I'm pretty sure Lang Campbell came to W&M as a walk on - I'm sure their are many, many more. So, lets hear it - who are they?

For starters David Ball is a walk-on, Head Coach Sean MacDonnell, 2005 LB EJ Dewitt, Brett Bashaw, and Dave Razumek were all great walk-ons at UNH.

Saftety Yeremiah Bell (Class of 2003) who looks like he may START for the Miami Dolphins this season started as a walk-on after working in a steel mill for two years. Bell had a spectacular junior season at Eastern and then...injured himself in a pick-up basketball game and missed his entire senior campaign. I believe he petitioned the NCAA for an extra year but didn't get it, and that was a seriously blow to what had been previously an EKU team that had been pre-season ranked as high as 2 in one magazine.

Hadley Prince walked on at McNeese and was 2nd in the Buchanan voting in 2002. :nod:

The Tribe has had many all-conference and team captain walk-ons. Probably the most honored next to Lang Campbell was LB Jason Miller, who was 1995 Yankee Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Matt Stevens, ASU '92-95, lengthy NFL career as a Free Safety, and picked a Super Bowl ring with the Patriots in '01.

A good number of our starters the last three years were walk-ons. Felton Huggins, Trey Willie, Hutch Gonzales, Josh Taylor, Johnny Flowers...we've had several make significant contributions.

I have to second the vote for Hitter Hauck.

...the kind of a guy whose hits made you say, "That'll leave a mark!", despite his relatively small size.

Oh, yeah, his brother is the Grizzlies' head coach, Bobby Hauck. It helps to have connections--not that Hitter needed them.

Now if we could only get Dave Dickenson to come back and be our offensive coordinator once he retires, we might have something going. :smiley_wi

Over half of our All-Americans have been walk-ons.....about 30 in all.

Trying to go off memory and I'm sure I'll probably have at least one wrong, but....Earthwind Moreland, Edward Thomas, Kiwaukee Thomas, Randell Boone....... brain cramp : retard :
Maybe I'll get a little help from the Eagle Nation on this one. ???
