ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State dropped to 1-1 after Saturday's 27-14 loss to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference foe Bethune-Cookman before a crowd of 15,491 at Oliver C. Dawson Bulldog Stadium.Bulldog head coach Buddy Pough and his Bulldogs, who are playing one of the most difficult schedules in the 105-year history of the football program, hope to rebound on Saturday at the University of Arizona, one of two FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) foes on this year's slate. SC State will follow Saturday's journey to Tucson to meet the now-24th ranked Wildcats with a trek to College Station, Texas next week to take on Texas A&M, one of the newest members to the Southeastern Conference.
