Eastern Washington and Stony Brook need to be higher. Montana State is a few spots too high, and I think Delaware should be a bit lower. A total catastrophe that Albany comes in at #36.

Otherwise, this doesn't look like a total disaster like it usually does.

GSU way too high - I think I had them at 22 in my poll.

Stony Brook, McNeese & UCA all too low.

So, Wofford beats a D2 team by a bunch and overtakes EWU, who loses on the road at FBS Oregon State 24-20. Makes sense. (Not a knock on Wofford, just don't see how you could clearly see the Terriers as a superior team from that week's results).

I think it would be hard to rank Albany over teams with FBS wins, but I wouldn't have trouble at all ranking UA over Harvard, Bethune Cookman, Norfolk State, North Dakota. Who the heck is voting for Tenn Tech?

Albany got no respect for whooping up on a mediocre RMU team...not to upset about it...just win baby...or put forth a good effort this weekend.

Agree; that win at Drake was ugly, and certainly other teams were more deserving of the three spots. What's most upsetting: They had a first place vote! I guess one voter considered (reigning national champ) NDSU's dominant win over FBS Colorado State less impressive than the Cats narrow win at FCS Drake.

I'm guessing it still has something to do with getting preseason 'respect' from being a playoff team in 2011. Plus, they handled a (now, pretty bad) Hampton team that was coming off of a 7-4 season (TTU lead that game, 31-7 at the half)...The D-II team they beat last week was a quarterfinal team in D-II last year, as well. Makes as much sense to put them high in the ORV list as anyone else, I guess...After next week (at OREGON), they'll fall back down. TTU is probably a 6-5, 5-6 team this year, IMO.

Are you sure it isn't because Tennessee Tech beat Memphis? I mean as far as the voters are concerned thats what happened.

The problem is no one puts them in the ORV. To get in ORV you have to be voted into the Top 25. I just don't see a case for Top 25 inclusion after beating Hampton and a DII team.

It would not surprise me in the least if that were actually true...
I might (stress might) make a case for #25 just for the fact that they are 2-0, having defeated another FCS team...I'm with you and anyone else who doesn't think they should be higher than that. I have them at #25 in my poll, simply because it's only week 2 and have a really hard time deciding upon teams 20-25 anyway...What the hell, homer vote? I won't do that in weeks 5-6 or beyond.

I have a lot of respect for Montana and GSU but both teams have FCS losses, it is ridiculous that ISU Red is behind them. The Redbirds physically dominated an FBS opponent on the road.

Who the heck is voting for Tenn Tech?

You mean Tennessee Tech, the defending OVC champs and a team that sees a whole lot return from last year?

I'm actually stupefied that EKU is so far above them, considering they very nearly were upset by Morehead State. And Jacksonville State's win over Chatty wasn't exactly a thing of beauty, either. As for UT Martin, who is only above them because of the Memphis win, it remains to be seen if they're in the same ballpark as EKU/JSU/TTU. Memphis is an awful FBS team.

So my UCA Bears hang with Ole Miss for 3 quarters and handily defeat an FCS Murray State with a QB most FCS teams would love to have, and we don't crack the top 25 in this poll? Interesting. I'll take the AGS poll over this one for sure.

I agree that ISUr should be ranked higher. I also believe that if you keep playing the way you do that you'll be changing more peoples' minds along the way, furthering your cause. I will be disappointed if you aren't one of the Valley teams selected for playoffs so you can prove your point. But remember you have to make sure you're one of the Valley teams left standing after conference play to get that spot. Same with NDSU. xcoffeex

You do remember that TTU tied for the OVC championship with JSU and EKU, right? They were only the tiebreaker winner. They still had two conference losses last season, so it wasn't as if they were the clear best team in the OVC in 2011.
